LA Stacking?

I've got a character concept in mind, but I'm confused about LA's...

Say I want to build the following:

[TEMPLATE "A" (LA+2)] + [RACE "A" (LA+4)]

Is this an LA+6 build?

You are better off never buying off the LA 4 template. Buy off the LA 2 template, though. You just won't have the levels to ever touch that LA 4 unless you go epic. (You could be down to 2 LA total by Level thirty.)
