I play a 3rd level Half-Orc paragon and a 1st level barbarian. I was told a paragon doesn't incur a multiclass penalty to xp but I wasn't sure. Figured I'd ask just to make sure

Thanks, Sam

Well Barbarian is the Half-Orc's favored Class. This means that it doesn't count for determining XP penalties for multiclassing.

Levels in racial paragon classes never result in XP penalties for multiclass characters.

I was considering on going into a third class as well.

Since the racial classes are only three levels long at most, it'd be pretty horrible if they did count for XP penalties. (Nevermind how horrid the XP penalty system is in the first place.)

there's a reason no one actually uses it.

It's rare, but it's not no one; if we leave it unsaid, those poor people who keep it in their games might not suspect otherwise. Complaining is a public service!
