I hope I've posted this in the right section. I'm going to be in the northwest part of Houston, TX for a while and I've been utterly unsuccessful in finding any comic book or game shops. Does anyone know of anything in the Jersey Village area?

Can't help you there, since I"m halfway across the nation to the northwest from ya. But if you're that hard up (And I understand that as I've lived in podunk towns where finding a group was nigh impossible), there's always online stuff. Playing with groups over forum boards, skype, MapTools, etc. It's not quite as good...

But then again the starving man doesn't complain about the Tofu Burger even if he rather have cow, as I well know.

8th Dimension comics (http://www.8thdimensioncomics.com/http://) and games is not too far

Asgard Game (http://www.asgardgames.net/)s is further but also a solid choice

Those are the two stores I know of. Have fun

I think you'll have more luck in this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51) section.

There's also a few VT programs out there with their own communities. Some are free, some aren't. Here's a shortlist:

Maptool
OpenRPG
Roll20
FantasyGrounds

I found all my groups on the internet from one site or another (and I am also in a rare gaming area). Good luck.

Yeah, Houston has a lot. The problem is Houston is huge and where I can get to is limited. Still, you guys've had a lot of great suggestions. I'm going to check out that 8th Dimension store.
Thanks all!

I'd suggest getting a group of friends together and setting up your own group is ifs practical. Clubs and stores are good. but gaming with people you know can be less intimidating.
