Is there already a thread about this somewhere?
For those of you that don't know, Defiance is a multiplatform third person shooter pseudo-post apocalyptic MMO. PS3, XBox, and PC. Yes, even XBox. It is also a TV series on SyFy. Game launch on 2 April and series pilot on 15 April. The two were conceptualized and designed together, so that things that happen in game are referenced on the show, and vice verse. It's an interesting concept.
My initial worry was that the show would be decent, but the game would be utter crap. But the game play actually looks pretty good.
Don't expect anything immensely innovative. It is a shooter after all. But it appears to take the best parts of shooters, including 4p co-op play (for dungeons), combines them with a dynamic events system a'la Rift/Gw2/etc, implements a massive PvP mode by opt in, does it all in an open world MMO setting for a great social game, and has no subscription.
After doing some research into it, watching a few vids, and talking to someone that was in a BWE, I have pre-ordered for PC.
