OOTS book 5 (the book of blood) is now over 200 strips with the end still 20 strips or so off. And that's excluding the extensive commentary and bonus strips. Long live book 5!!!

...well. That's pretty cool. How does that compare with previous books?

In terms of Raw number of strips? DCF was 120, NCfPB was 180, WaXP was 184, and DStP was 188. However, I think WaXP had more pages than DStP, because it had so many multi-page strips.

And I'm still hoping for the new book to be called "Blood, Sweat, and Tears."

I never gave it much thought, but that sounds really appropriate.

Really good name suggestion. Not just themed with the three empires: blood because of family ties (and the large part of the strip spent in the Empire of Blood), sweat because they're in the desert, and tears because the way things are going this is looking to be a very emotionally turbulent arc.

OOTS Book 5: Blood Is Thicker Than Elan

I remember someone saying something about WaXPs being the longest of the OOTS books (as in Giant doesn't want to make them longer than that), but I could be wrong.

I still say Blood, Sweat and Tiers. :smallamused:

But isn't it supposed to be a literature pun, like "Great XP Actions" or "Lawrence of Tyrinaria?"

Rich has said that he doesn't want to have to be pigeon holed into doing that if he doesn't feel like it. Hence the name of DStP.

I do see the pun. Do you?
Granted not really a literature pun, but good enough.

Don't Split The Party doesn't really have a pun (none that I got, at least :smalltongue:) so, just as the title doesn't have to have a literary reference, it doesn't need a pun either.

1) Yes: tiers/tears 2) I have already been corrected about puns being "necessary" 3) I had been ninja'd and didn't see the "tiers" post the first time around

My thought for a title was "Foreign Relations"

A little nod to the trip overseas/Empire of Blood, but pointing more to the whole "family" themes underlying the whole arc.

We're all forgetting the most obvious title ever: :elan:: The Empire Strikes Back!
