Heya folks, just wanted to let you know that voting has started in the seed round for this year, in case you hadn't already heard. Here's hoping OOTS takes it this year. :)

Vote Here! (http://www.comicmix.com/mix-march-madness-webcomics-tournament/2013/03/04/announcing-mix-march-madness-2013-seeding-round/)

Addendum: No, I'm not a spam bot. I just happen to love this little comic about Roy, Elan, Haley, Varsuvius, Belkar (soon to be deceased), and Durkon (dead, and maybe loving it?). Really want to see more views and more audience for Rich.

I would guess that The Giant still prefers that you not vote for OOTS, but obviously he'll tell us if I'm wrong. For a similar situation, please see here:

This is a completely different situation though. This isn't trying to 'win' some meaningless spot on some random comic list. And 'winning' the top spot isn't going to draw attention away from aspiring new comic artists (which is the real purpose of lists like TopWebComic).

This is trying to figure out what is the most popular/well thought of webcomic on the entire net.

I assure you, there will be many comics listed there that have nothing to do with TopWebComics and similar listing services.

Now Rich may feel uncomfortable with people running over there to vote for him. But in this case, I think he can live with us trying to show that he has a large fanbase. :smalltongue:

ETA::: From the link:

Last year, things got very overheated in a number of ways, with our servers melting from the load from people trying to vote multiple times, and comments getting very intense at the end of the tournament– so much so that our finalists, Tom Siddell of Gunnerkrigg Court (http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/) and Tarol Hunt from Goblins (http://www.goblinscomic.com/), decided to donate all their winnings to the Child’s Play charity (http://www.childsplaycharity.org/). Semi-finalists Andrew Hussie from Homestuck (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/) and Rich Burlew from Order Of The Stick (http://www.giantitp.com/) followed suit, and we kicked in the unclaimed winnings from nobody picking the Final Four. We were so moved by the gesture, we adopted it for our own purposes and are now letting you cheat support your favorite strips by paying for additional votes, with your money going to charity. Simply click on the Donate button below, and during checkout, click on “Which comic are you donating for?” and tell us who you’re voting for. It’s 10¢ a vote for this round with a minimum of ten votes purchased at a time, and all proceeds from paid votes will go to the Hero Initiative (http://www.heroinitiative.org/), an organization that helps comic book creators in need. At the close of the round, we’ll add the paid votes to the totals and announce the winners who move on to the brackets. (And yes, your donations are tax deductible.)

Now, of course, people don't HAVE to donate to vote over there. But I think it is a pretty noble gesture on their part to fascilitate donating while voting. And, who knows, maybe it will help channel the more... competitive instincts of gamers/nerds in a productive manner. :smalltongue:
