Hello everybody, and thank you for taking time out of your day to read this question and possibly help me.

Okay, so long story short, one of the people in a campaign I'm going to be DMing is wanting to be something along the lines of a jester. How would something such as this be made? The idea he's got in mind is basically a rogue and bard rolled into one, but that seems a bit pointless to me. He likes the idea of having a bag of tricks, something completely random.

Once again, I would like to thank anybody and everybody who has helped, even if it's just a tidbit of input.

The jester is currently a D&D class from the Dragon Compendium as vasharian has alluded to. In addition, there's this (http://dnd-wiki.org/wiki/Jester_%283.5e_Class%29).

I don't know if the BG boards are back online (can't access them from work) but if they are then this Jester (http://www.brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=12784.0) is by far my favorite homebrew. It is based on the factotum and seems well balanced for Tier 3.
