I need help making a character with a a long class name (ex: eagle totem barbarian 2/ wilderness rogue 1/ urban ranger 1). The caveats here are: it needs to be fairly viable at 13, say tier 4ish, and the race needs to be lesser svirfneblin. Aside from the the sky is the limit, classes, prestiege class, and templates. Suggestions?

Arctic lesser svirfneblin is a bit longer. Go searching for LA+0 templates?

Perhaps a level of Unarmed Swordsage, or Overwhelming Attack Monk.
If you want some arcane power to make a gish, consider the specialist wizard classes, such as Spontaneous Summoning Wizard.

But, can I ask, why is a long class name important?

Cultist of the Shattered Peak, Inquisitor of the Drowning Goddess, Dispassionate Watcher of Chronepsis, Great Rift Deep Defender, Temple Raider of Olidammara, Vigilant Sentinel of Aerenal, Unholy Ravager of Tiamat, and Winterhaunt of Iborighu are all pretty long.

Focused Illusion Specialist, Chains of Disbelief, Shadow Shaper, Illusion Mastery, Martial Wizard, Gnome Racial variant Wizard 3/
Master Specialist 2/
Mindbender 1/
Geometer 1/
Shadowcraft mage 3/
Fate spinner 1/
Mage of the Arcane Order 1/
Incantantrix 1

you get to ban 4 (3 for focused specialist, 4th for incantantrix) schools.
Ban

So ban Evocation, Conjuration, Necromancy, Transmutation. Your schools left are Abjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Illusion. This should make you tier 3-ish.

It is a long running joke between my DM and I. This particular campaign seemed like a good time to roll out the stops.

want to add Knight of the Iron Glacier, Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil, Mage of the Arcane Order, Master Transmogrifist, Green Star Adept, Hand of the Winged Masters, and Scion of Tem-Et-Nu to that list.

More on topic: OP, do you want something that has a ton of classes and gets length that way, or something with classes that have long names, individually? because there's this thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=274731)

edit: i'll keep searching for long class names, and post them here: no i won't i'm too lazy for that.

I think "Chimeric Champion of Garl Glittergold" is probably the one with the most characters in it.

I think you could probably get a "Champion of Corellon Larethian/Mystic Keeper of Corellon Larethian." You might even be able to work in Champion of Growlywoof if you put in a level of Barbarian.

Wait, we're optimizing the length of the build's name? That's crazy. Or hilarious. Or crazy hilarious. I haven't decided which.

I proposed taking 1 level of every full BAB class or prestige class, using racial substitution levels and alternate class features whenever possible. Just having full BAB + Power Attack + Shock Trooper will keep you in Tier 4. Everything else is to lengthen your name.

Shining Blade of Heironeous, Disciple of the Word, Beast Heart Adept, Paragnostic Apostle, Justice of Weald and Woe, Night Mask Deathbringer, Unseelie Dark Hunter, Knight of the Flying Hunt. . .

Among base classes, Dragonfire Adept and Dread Necromancer are pretty letter-heavy, though they don't have any good variants to tack on. I think Ranger probably will be your best bet for slapping on variants. Mystic Wildshape Spiritual Connection Planar Trap Expert Distracting Attack Ranger, anyone?

I've loved that class for a long time, actually played one once, and am so glad to see it put to the best use possible.

What the heck is with gnomes and long names?

My Epic gnome illusionist had a name made of 6 names.... they acronymed out to SHADOW.

Both gnomes I've played only had two names - a first and a last. Wait, scratch that, I played a 3rd one for a couple sessions that had like 6 names I think (so 4 middle names). It's just a bit too silly to do every time, and also a lot of work to think of so many good names.

I played a gnome with a long name, but that was because I stole his name from an actually existing spanish nobleman, so he had all his family's holdings listed in there as well, in addition to about ten middle names.
