An androgyne sat upon the steps of the church, ragged black cloak flitting idly in the chill breeze, a pair of strange robots, mixing flesh and metal, at her sides, rainbow light playing over their hulls.

As the Disciple rose into the air, she raised her right hand to point at it, laughing, and, a moment later, began a strange chant.

"Shattered bones and broken dreams,
Vict'ry cries to rending screams.
Flesh is failing, dead bird falling,
Can't you hear your death is calling?"

Meanwhile, a rider made of dust and stone, her horse's tack emblazoned with a silver hand holding a black moon, rides up, coming to a halt at the bottom of the stairs, and examining the field...

Watching as his Disciple is torn apart by the words of his foe, a green-crested humanoid raises four arms from his sides and barks a command beyond language. The Disciple's skull falls from his suspended corpse, just as it is dissolved to ash and dust, and burrows itself into the ground with corpulent tendrils from within. As the call echoes into the distance, the ground seems to shake, and the air stirs in anticipation of a distant shape's arrival, its silhouette tall against the horizon.

A rotting monstrosity of fungal matter, slowly drawing strength from the ring in the center of its being and absorbing the soil fertilized by the Slitherhead, rolls towards the opposing forces.
