So, I read through the Pathfinder Distant Worlds supplement, and I'm tempted to run a game set on Akiton. I was wondering if there might be other source books for the sorts of things I could load the campaign with. More detailed locations, creatures only found on the Red Planet, etc. Is there a pathfinder adventure path detailing such things, or should I just read up on John Carter and the Barsoomian Wastes and try to fit my own stuff?

My first inclination is to just start with A Princess of Mars and work your way through the Barsoom novels. They mention sand worms so make brush up on your Dune, say everything up to and including Chapter House.

So no further mechanical support from Paizo?

Paizo has produced an adventure (http://paizo.com/products/btpy8g1r?Pathfinder-Society-Scenario-205-Eyes-of-the-Ten-Part-III-Red-Revolution) set on Akiton. Unfortunately, it's tied in to 2 years of Pathfinder Society metaplot.

May be worth browsing for ideas though.

I suspect there may be more support in future, but there's not really anything else that I know of, yet. My primary reason for expecting future elaboration is that the Reign of Winter adventure path has already been announced to include Distant Worlds' material in later modules. Paizo's shown an interest in using that resource, so... fingers crossed!
