During their travels the bold adventurers Dorium and Hogard find themselves in the isolated village of Haanex and spot a handbill recruiting the services of adventurers.
They enquire for more details at Veoden's tower, a clumsy, flimsy affair of wood, stone and brick that leans at several odd and unstable appearing angles.
the wizard Veoden tells them a long and detailed story of the meteorite that fell from the sky over 100 years ago. due to the enormous value of skymetal this meteorite represents many searched for the fallen star but no one had been able to locate it, none that is except perhaps one, A man named Dairoo was found just west of town, almost dead from wounds and exposure. He claimed that he had found the star but that it was guarded by wizards and monsters.
Dairoo carried in his pockets a few bits of an odd, silvery metal that the town blacksmith could not work. No matter how hot the forge, the metal refused to melt. Dairoo would only say that the metal was not worth the evil that he had seen to claim it and refused to tell a soul where it had been found.
Dairoo died shortly after, many say from a disease or curse, a curse that seemed to be passed down from father to son in the dairoo line for many years but rumour says that something else was also passed down, a map, a map that might hold the location of the fallen star itself!
The last of the Dairoo line has fallen victim to the curse and he was buried with the map but fear of the Curse has outlived the Dairoo line and no one wishes to risk the curse enough to claim the map for their own.
