Me and my rogue buddy have..."acquired" 50000 gold. What kind of stuff should we buy with it?

Rogue Char Sheet

Human LvL 4 Rogue

Feats: Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon Finesse, Quick Draw

Skill monkey basically.

Me.

Human LvL 2 Warlock/ LvL 2 Wizard Hawk Familiar

School Specialization: Illusion
Forbidden Schools: Evocation, Necromancy

INT 18, CHA 16

Feats: Spell Focus and Greater Spell Focus: Illusion, Enchantment
Flaw: Frail

Spells: Silent Image, Charm, Sleep, Color Spray, Expeditious Retreat, Feather Fall, Mount, Mage Armor

Invocations: Baleful Utterance, Spiderwalk

I was planing on going Eldritch Theurge(CM) at lvl 7, but I'm not sure with Evocation and Necromancy forbidden. Master Specialist(CM) seems a better choice with Illusions...

I may take Silent Spell and Arcane Thesis: Major Image later on.

We go around conning people and stealing stuff.

I was thinking magic items. Any suggestions?

With 50k, you can get the +6 headband for INT, or any of the other +6 items that you like. -nods- Right? they're 36k... I think? Ugh, I hate being AFB.

That's useful. So is a gauntlet/ armor spikes with eager and warning (+3 total, including the base +1), for extra Initiative.

RING GATES. BUY RING GATES. They're 40,000 gold for a pair, and they're portable portals. There is nothing more awesome. They can transfer 100 lbs of material between them each day, but objects partially transferred and then retracted (like a hand if you reach through) don't count toward that limit. Small creatures can get through with an Escape Artist check. Especially since you have a hawk familiar, you can have it carry one Ring Gate somewhere, like above your enemies, and then shoot through the gate with your Eldritch Blasts. You can probably reach through and pull it around with your hand, or throw it with the hand that your reach through, because when you're dealing with portals physics is weird.

If you have ever played Portal, you can definitely think of uses for these. They're awesome.

I... how did I miss Ring Gates?

They're awesome! what are they from, again? I know them from an old campaign, but I figured they were just added/homebrew...

Good ol' DMG. Although the MIC has a lot of variety, I find that the DMG has some of the best basic magic items. DMGII also has some very interesting picks, often surprising.

Oh my, a headband of intellect +6... that would increase my save DC for my illusion and enchantment spells by 3. :smallamused: Not bad...

Could I buy a cloak of charisma +6 and then take the Leadership feat? Use the rest of the money to make a thief's guild and gain an additional +2 on account of "Has a stronghold, base of operations, guildhouse, or the like".

But those rings sound awesome. Very useful for stealing stuff...
