That's not a fair question. I like them all! :smalleek:

What would you do if you woke up with pink hair?

Mauve Shirt
2013-07-23, 05:09 AM
First I'd be all "Oh dang, how will I match this with any of my clothing?" And then I'd be all "Heh, my mom's going to flip her lid." And then I'd be all "Christ, I have to go to work with spontaneous pink hair."

Do you think of online universities as "Degree factories"?

2013-07-23, 07:35 AM
Given that I still have to write and pass some pretty complicated exams (okay, it's for a designation rather than a degree, but still....) and study at least as hard as I had to for my undergrad at a brick-and-mortar university, I'd say that at least this one is no degree factory.

What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen european swallow?

(Please remember that velocity, as a vector, consists of both a magnitude and a direction)

2013-07-23, 09:31 AM
Rough 24 mph, north-northwest.

I'm going to visit a castle later today. Should I bring a cell phone, or do you think there'll be a phone I can use there?

2013-07-23, 11:05 AM
I expect it would be best to bring a phone. Depends on how touristy the castle is.
TPBM, can you read this?

2013-07-23, 11:48 AM
No. I cannot.

Oh great and wise TPBM, famed from the land where the sun is born in the morning to the land which serves as its tomb in the evening, how does one know if they're in love?

2013-07-25, 10:16 AM
There is a sign, my child, that is clearest and without denial - one may know without doubt that they are in love when they find themselves desiring nothing more than to gaze upon the smiling face of their beloved even at the cost of their own life.

So, TPBM, what happens if I push the red button installed on the back of your neck?

2013-07-25, 10:32 AM
You explode.

(You, not me.)

If I had an orbital bombardment platform capable of dropping tungsten rods from space anywhere on earth with perfect accuracy, could I take over the world?

2013-07-25, 10:54 AM
Depends on, among other things, its response time to your signal to fire, its capacity to fire, its resilience to attacks, and who you prioritized as targets.

But for the most part I'll say no.

Who's your favorite character on Leverage?

Gnomish Wanderer
2013-08-08, 01:45 PM

Why don't you know more about Shadowrun? o.o

2013-08-09, 12:59 AM
Because I'm a terrible person who isn't on Skype as much as I should be.

How are you today good sir/madam/other?

2013-08-09, 01:00 AM
We are pretty good.

Oh good Person Posting Vertically Under Me, how would you reccomend I set up an extended signature?

Mauve Shirt
2013-08-09, 05:24 AM
Go to the Long Signatures thread up in Friendly Banter. Make a post. Put all the stuff that you're ok with people not reading every time you post. Most people put quote collections and stuff up there.

Do you prefer not having work when you're at your job (ie the most boring, lazy shift possible) or having work when you're at your job?

2013-08-09, 09:06 AM
I prefer having work, as this tends to increase the probability that I will still have a job in the immediate future.

TPBM, if you were an aquatic mammal, what sort of aquatic mammal would you be?

2013-08-09, 11:03 AM
Do semi-aquatic mammals count?

If you're eating barbecue, do you prefer pork or beef?

2013-08-09, 02:14 PM
Beef. I don't really like pork, except in bacon form.

I'm making nachos. Want some?

@VV No beef. Chicken.

2013-08-09, 04:15 PM
Of course. Thank you for asking.

Would you like some of the nachos ORione made for me? I just ate and I can't finish them all.

2013-08-09, 04:56 PM
Only if there's no beef on 'em.

What's for dinner?

2013-08-09, 08:31 PM
Good question my aquatic associate! I've got no idea.

Where can one find true happiness?

2013-08-09, 10:59 PM
Small moments.

How often do you eat pears? Do you prefer them to apples?

Gnomish Wanderer
2013-08-10, 01:15 PM
Practically never and yes.

What have you done?!?

2013-08-10, 01:18 PM

2013-08-11, 08:29 PM
I'm just fine.

What would you season a potato with?

2013-08-11, 09:51 PM
Vegetable oil. And a deep-fryer.

Fries or onion rings?

2013-08-11, 09:52 PM
McDonald's: fries BK: onion rings

Gnomish Wanderer
2013-08-12, 07:48 PM
I agree completely, and let me just say that your question showed remarkable wit and forethought!

Best small animal to use in combat?

2013-08-12, 08:14 PM
Badgers. A DM of mine had a habit of putting things in campaigns like random badgers in sacks. So annoying.

What animal should I draw today?

2013-08-12, 09:40 PM

Would you like one of those?

2013-08-12, 11:41 PM
I'm not really certain... I mean... On the one hand, it would be a very interesting pet. But on the other hand, it would probably cost a lot to keep one, and my cat would likely get very upset.

Do you know where your keys are?

2013-08-13, 01:49 AM
That I do.

What's your favorite veggie to go in fried rice?

2013-08-13, 02:06 AM

Should I actually watch RWBY?

2013-08-13, 11:44 AM
It couldn't hurt. I watched all four episodes yesterday morning, and they seem quite good.

Did you know that echidnae and platypi lay eggs?

2013-08-13, 11:56 AM
I did.

Why on earth do people like glittery vampires?

2013-08-13, 12:28 PM
It confuses me, too, Puppies.

So, am I hallucinating, or was there a comic where one day, "Highway to the Danger Zone" just started playing out of nowhere, everywhere on Earth, non-stop, to the point where a lynch mob sacrificed Kenny Loggins in vain in an attempt to stop it?

'Cuz I haven't been able to find it since, and at the time, I thought it was pretty darn funny.

Who is your absolute favorite fictional character?
@v I would disagree as to the nature of objection and whether it is truly implied by the phrasing absolute.

2013-08-13, 01:52 PM
The terms absolute and favorite are contradictory, as absolute infers an objective quality whereas favorite is a subjective concept, subject to change over time as new candidates are introduced. For the moment, however, I would say my favorite is Sheldon Cooper of The Big Bang Theory.

What is one food item that you would never eat in a sandwich?

2013-08-13, 01:56 PM
Hm.... Sausages? As in, whole, sausages. I don't think they would work very well.

What is your favorite "American" food?

2013-08-14, 01:08 PM
Pemmican. One of the most American foods you can get. :amused:

What's your favorite "American" food that's a shameless ripoff of something foreign?

2013-08-14, 01:44 PM
Well, I'd say pizza, but you can't really call that 'shameless' when it has just as much or even more variations in the U.S. as it does in Italy (and, by the way, I've had many kinds of both), so let's go with fish and chips. Although even that is just as much a New English thing as an English thing, so whatever.

Really, there are very few foods you can just label as Americanized 'shameless ripoffs.' I mean, there are a lot of things derived from foreign food that is very American, but whether you could call it 'shameless' really depends on restaraunt quality. Maybe things like Americanized tacos, nachos, burritos and the like, but... well, those are delicious. I really don't give too much of a damn about authenticity if the food is good.

What's your most embarrassing favorite food?

2013-08-14, 01:54 PM
Oof, I think I'd have to go with animal crackers.

Since we're on the concept of food, TPBM, what food are you craving?

2013-08-14, 01:57 PM
Pad Thai, mostly because my brother is making some for lunch right now over there in the kitchen.

2013-08-14, 02:32 PM
Cuthalion, baby, no question? I'm crushed. :smallfrown:

Be honest - ever forget to ask TPBY a question and feel bad about it?

2013-08-14, 03:30 PM
No. This is my first time on this thread.

Have you been to Eugene, Oregon?

2013-08-14, 09:43 PM
Considering I have never heard of it, I rather doubt that I have.

Got any good tips about sleep?

2013-08-14, 10:37 PM
Don't think about sheep. Because, inevitably, one trips and they have a pileup, or, just as likely, they get eaten by a wolf. :smallannoyed:

What's your favorite instrument to listen to?

2013-08-15, 08:16 AM
That really depends on my mood, but this week has been insane, so I think relaxing harp music is at the top right now.

TPBM, what's that crawling up your left leg?

2013-08-15, 09:20 AM
Nothing actually.

What countries have you been in?

2013-08-23, 08:30 AM
Apart from my home country (the U.S.), I've been in England for 2 1/2 days and France for 7 1/2 days. They were both the same trip. It was a study tour I went on through my school the summer after my junior year. I loved Arromanches-Les-Baines. It was so pretty.

If you had to choose between:

A) A life of wealth and luxury in which all your needs and desires are met, except you can't (you literally are unable to) leave your property

B) A life of a poor vagabond who, though poor, is able to travel the world as they please, free to go wherever on a moment's whim.

Which would you pick?

2013-08-23, 04:09 PM
That's an interesting question; my answer to that is likely fluid, and would change depending on my mood and financial situation. :smalltongue:

Why is this page stretching so much on my iPhone?

2013-08-23, 04:15 PM
It's Gnomish's fault.

2013-08-24, 01:05 AM
Well, it's not afternoon where I am, but I'm fine.

Do know of Regina Spektor?

2013-08-24, 06:30 AM

TPBM, I'm getting Chinese food. What do you want?

2013-08-26, 02:17 AM
Vegetable moo shu and a whole lot of rice. Vegetable pad thai if they have it- some Chinese restaurants will.

What's the absolute worst movie you've ever seen?

2013-08-26, 09:19 AM
See, that's a tricky one, because there are so many subjective factors that can make a movie terrible, and yet, watched in the right mood and context, those terrible factors can make a movie wonderful....

I'll submit for your consideration, however, Santa Claus Conquers The Martians, despite my thoroughly enjoying its terribleness.

TPBM, is anybody out there?

2013-08-26, 09:50 AM
I am.

Have you played Fluxx?

@V No, it's a card game.

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-08-26, 08:58 PM
I don't play many video games so, no. I mean, is it a video game?

Hip hop music; yay or nay?

@V: :smallannoyed:
@VV: Oh, I didn't realize that was a literal nay. I thought you were dodging answering the question to be annoying. You can understand how I might have been smallannoyed at someone flat out refusing to answer my question, can't you?
@VVV: Yeah the whole "translating" bit threw me off

Mea culpa, man. Mea culpa.

2013-08-27, 04:19 AM
As a horse made from cheese, I can answer this question without even having to translate my answer into English.

@^ Well, you did ask a yes or no question. Personally, I just don't like hip hop music, I never have. I also don't like most sports, action movies, spinach, the colour orange or the wearing of hats. There's no real point in being annoyed when someone disagrees over trivial matters.

@@^ Perfectly understandable. Now that I reflect, it was a terrible pun on my behalf.

2013-08-29, 11:51 AM
I haven't eaten any cookies anytime recently.

Do you like to go backpacking?

2013-08-29, 04:00 PM

2013-08-29, 09:33 PM

Do you feel Tuesday and Wednesday?

2013-08-29, 10:52 PM
They can be good days.

How were you introduced to D&D? (If you play it.)

2013-08-29, 11:40 PM
Heh. Actually, I started out playing 4th edition- my aunt got me the core books back in '08. I still run games for my brother occasionally- he loves playing the game, but he can barely figure out 4th even when I build his characters for him.

I started playing 3.5 largely because of OOTS- I have a friend who recommended me the comic, and I played D&D, so I lurked around the forum for a while, found my way to the 3.5 SRD, and started playing around with 3.5. It's really more my speed, anyway- more customizable, waaay more content, and 4e classes always felt too homogenous for me to really enjoy either char-gen or combat.

What other webcomics would you recommend? (By the way, if it's relatively famous or long-running, I've probably read it. Especially if it's fantasy or sci-fi.)

2013-08-30, 08:43 AM
I imagine you may have quite a bit of overlap with my list, then

Ctrl+Alt+Del (http://www.cad-comic.com/)
El Goonish Shive (http://www.egscomics.com/)
Erfworld (http://www.erfworld.com/) (Most people here know this one, of course)

TPBM, did you do that?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-09-02, 01:55 AM
You give me too much credit.

So what's your favourite episode of your favourite show?

2013-09-02, 02:33 AM
That depends on when you ask me that. Lately I've been really into Avatar: The Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra. It's hard to pick a favorite episode. One of my favorites is "The Crossroads of Destiny".

Have you watched Firefly? (Another favorite TV show of mine)

2013-09-02, 07:21 AM
I'll be in my bunk.

What's your favorite quote from Jayne?

2013-09-02, 08:01 AM
Either "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eatin' steak," or "Dear diary: Today I was pompous and my sister was crazy. Today we were kidnapped by hill folk, never to be seen again. It was the best day ever."

What's your favorite quote from River?

@V: You should. It's only fourteen episodes long, you could finish it in a few days' free time.

2013-09-02, 07:43 PM
I don't watch Firefly. The only River quote I know is, "Also, I can kill you with my brain."

How did you find this site?

2013-09-02, 08:03 PM
The comic I found because it was in Dragon Magazine. The forums I found searching for homebrew Martial Disciplines because I was working on a few and figured I'd see what other people had done.

2013-09-02, 09:08 PM

2013-09-02, 10:56 PM
No. I have no head for them.

2013-09-02, 11:45 PM

What's your favourite subject of study in History?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-09-03, 08:12 AM
Oh wow. I don't get to ponder history that much but I am fascinated by many things. The Aztecs, the English civil war, the prohibition, 1980s Reagan-Thatcher politics/economics.

If you could be someone else for an hour every day, who would you be?

2013-09-03, 10:13 AM
I would decline to use that opportunity.

Do you prefer playing a Sorcerer or a Barbarian in 3.5?

2013-09-03, 10:34 AM
Sorcerer; I've liked playing dragon descendants since way back in 3.0 (it made choosing your spells to best emulate the dragon your were descended from interesting).

What 1 fan base should I make a class to cater to?

2013-09-18, 09:17 AM

What do you do when you find sleeping difficult?

@V It is as I suspected. A visit to a physician is in order.

2013-09-18, 09:23 AM
Either I flagellate the bishop, or pop a melatonin pill. The latter was really helpful for the awful insomnia I developed in the last year of my undergrad and I recommend it highly.

What's your favorite TV show that was cancelled way too early in its run? (Aside from Firefly, that's too easy.)

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-09-20, 12:04 AM
I don't get the hype with Firefly, sorry. Classic Doctor Who, I guess. If it was allowed to progress as it was in the late 80s it could have been the best thing on television in the 90s.

Jazz or western classical?

2013-09-20, 01:07 AM
I'll go with western classical.

Which is cuter, puppies or kittens?

2013-09-20, 02:16 AM
You sir, ask a question with no rational answer. However, I personally believe that kittens are the answer.

How are you this fine afternoon?

2013-09-20, 07:27 AM
Pretty tired.

Do you also work the night shift?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-09-20, 10:55 PM
I'm an unemployed insomniac, fr what it's worth.

Fantasy or sci fi?

2013-09-21, 02:43 AM
I'll go with fantasy.

Can you solve a rubix cube?

2013-09-21, 06:42 AM
Eventually, but, given enough time, a monkey with a typewriter will produce the entire works of Shakespeare

TPBM is a fan of Shakespeare.

2013-09-21, 06:45 AM
I know his plays, but I think that OOTS is better.
TPBM knows at least 2 different programming languages.

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-09-21, 07:09 AM
Not even one.

What's your favourite album of the 1980s?

2013-09-21, 11:51 AM
Doolittle, probably. Or The Number of the Beast.

How often do you read? Books, not comics.

2013-09-21, 12:53 PM
When I have time, so more often during the summer.

What is your favorite of the non-OOTS similes?

2013-09-23, 09:38 AM
Strong as an ox.

What is TPBM's favorite animated show?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-09-23, 12:39 PM
Animated television shows. I don't tend to like 'em. There's always a better live action alternative, for example.

Archer, a less subtle Arrested Development.

Neon Genesis Evangelion, a less subtle LOST

The Simpsons, a less subtle every sitcom ever.

What is TPBM's favourite stage musical?

@V: Granted, I can't find a live action version of Animaniacs. But, given the quality of the show in its current format, I'm not sure I want to. What about Saturday Night Live? Never seen The Tick, though.

2013-09-23, 02:40 PM
...That's an enormous generalization. I dare you to name me a better live-action TV show version of, say, Animaniacs. Or Cowboy Bebop, the 1990s Batman cartoon, as much as I love Adam West. Or, hell, The Tick. The live-action version was crap.

Anyway, Les Misrables or Sweeney Todd, I think.

What's your favorite unconventional video game? (You know, stuff like Psychonauts or Shadow of the Colossus rather than, say, HALO or Warcraft. Also, Portal doesn't count, it's too easy.)

2013-09-23, 03:44 PM
Is it decorous for me to answer with Amnesia: The Dark Descent? For this game left maggot-bites in my very soul, and I much eagerly await the evening when I manage a spare a couple of hours to begin debasing myself with Machine for Pigs.

Do you prefer the early early morning as a beginning or an end to your day?

2013-09-23, 06:17 PM
End. :smalltongue: I'm fine with sleeping into the afternoon if it means my night can last a little later. Sadly, work conspires against me in this, too. :smallsigh:

How many times have you had to call in to work because of sickness?

2013-09-23, 10:39 PM

Dr. Bath

It sums up the way I deal with parties.

What's your favourite radio station?

2013-09-24, 09:42 AM
Baseball, classical, or soft jazz. Also, the latter two are the only music stations with anything halfway decent around here. *sighs*

Eh, not too big on the toons, personally.

What's your favourite episode of your favourite show?

Nix Nihila
2013-10-03, 02:15 PM
It has to be a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, but there are too many great ones to conclusively decide on a favorite. I might have to go with Season Four's Hush. Though it lacks the emotional punch which episodes like The Body or Conversations With Dead People provide, it's a truly excellent episode amid one of the more lacking seasons, and very easy to appreciate even if you've never seen the show before.

Do you have anything exciting planned for this Hallowe'en?

2013-10-03, 02:28 PM
We're moving the outhouse to the front lawn and I'm dressing as a zombie to bust out of it when people walk by.

TPBM, how goes your day?

2013-10-03, 02:38 PM
I fear that like last year, my cabbage-cabbage, a rough surfeit of responsibilities will prevent my participating in the themed Hallowe'en festivities to which I was once accustomed. I don't think my friends have even agreed on a theme this year, and time to make a costume is ticking preciously away.

edit I am feeling melancholy today, Basket. I wish I could have stayed home and played the piano all morning.

2013-10-05, 08:19 PM

WHY couldn't I have given myself a reasonable workload?

2013-10-06, 08:46 PM

Why does homework have to involve so much damn work?

2013-10-07, 08:11 AM

How would you go about designing a pillow fort?

2013-10-07, 09:14 AM

Laughing Dog
2013-10-07, 02:19 PM

Why have you stopped replying to my sexts?

2013-10-09, 03:58 PM

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-10-09, 06:16 PM
It's only 9AM. So, unless cooking some salmon counts; nothing.

2013-10-10, 12:33 AM
Not really.

Do you watch the Nostalgia Critic?

Laughing Dog
2013-10-10, 10:34 AM

Did you check for White text, TPBM?

2013-10-10, 10:35 AM

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-10-10, 01:34 PM

@V: How about now? :smalltongue:

2013-10-11, 03:40 PM

Have you watched Being There?

Laughing Dog
2013-10-11, 04:38 PM

What would be your most dreaded Pokmon to face?

Nix Nihila
2013-10-11, 11:36 PM
Perhaps the mime one (Mr. Mime I think?) Quite garish and unsettling. But I know very little about Pokmon, so there are probably more frightening ones.

What does it mean if all of the makeup products I've recently purchased have names like "Malice" and "Sulfurous"? I'm starting to become concerned. :smalleek:

DJ Yung Crunk

It means the makeup industry has jumped the shark again.

TPBM, do you listen to Sabaton?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-10-14, 05:21 PM
No! No! A thousand times, no! If you like them, good for you, but I can scarcely think of an artist that has me reaching for the mute button quicker.

Have you watched a Soviet propaganda film?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-10-15, 10:06 PM
Nope. Not yet, anyway. Are they as well directed as the Nazi ones?

What's your least-favorite sequel (that you still actually watched) of this year?

2013-11-07, 08:44 PM

Would you like to play in a 3.5 Privateer game DM'ed by me?

2013-11-07, 08:48 PM
Yes, if this were March. I don't exactly have that kind of time. :smallfrown:

DJ Yung Crunk

I don't quite understand the question.

What's your favourite film of the 1990's?

If you could learn, in real life, any one spell from D&D, but still be constrained by all of its rules, what spell would it be?

2013-11-08, 04:25 PM
Magic Missile has no downsides and can one-shot anyone (peasants have 2 hp)

Why on earth did you do that?

2013-11-08, 04:34 PM
I wanted to.

Would you have enough time to participate in a 3.5 privateer game?

2013-11-08, 04:36 PM

Do you enjoy playing monstrous races?

2013-11-09, 12:33 PM
Yes. I've played a thri-kreen soulbow (with Lucky and MWF; that guy's full attacks took forever to resolve), an unbodied Telepath that was basically a Great Old One, and an Anthropomorphic Bear Drunken Master (HOT DAMN was that a fun campaign). Also, I've had the party I'm DMing (well, DMed, and hopefully will DM again) up against an insane Anthro Toad cleric (the self-proclaimed 'King of Slaads'), as well as an awakened animated Gargantuan statue with three levels of Warblade.

2013-11-09, 02:01 PM

What's your favorite melee weapon?

2013-11-09, 05:01 PM
A sword.

Why is the moon green?

2013-11-09, 05:06 PM
The moon is green because sometimes the cheese up there gets too much sun and starts growing mold. That, or you left your green-tinted glasses on.

Supervillains only seem to pop up after the superheroes recieve their powers, so my question is: Do supervillains cause superheroes or is it the other way around?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-11-09, 11:48 PM
The superhero genre is built upon contrivance and coincidence.

Good morning, sunshine, how do you want your eggs?

Blue Ghost
2013-11-10, 12:04 AM
I'd like them scrambled with tomatoes, please.

How may I serve you today?

2013-11-11, 07:34 AM
Some ibuprofen! My kingdom for some ibuprofen!

TPBM, are you cold? If so, why the heck are you in the refrigerator?!?

2013-11-11, 08:33 AM
But I like it in here. :smallfrown: It's dark and has plenty of food.

Would you like a complimentary elephant?

2013-11-18, 11:43 AM

What would be a truly excellent question to ask you?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-11-18, 12:17 PM
I dunno. Something about jazz, maybe?

It's 4 AM. What do I do now?

2013-11-19, 11:00 AM
In Japanese, 4=death, so I would reccommend hiding for now.

What does the fox say?

2013-11-19, 03:28 PM
The fox says, "Please stop singing songs about me. I just want to live in peace and eat grubs..." Foxes eat grubs, right?

What is an electron made of?

2013-11-20, 05:36 AM
The teaching of the Immaculate Dragons is that lightning is of the province of Air, and so it is by Mela's will that these "electrons" exist.

The teaching of the Neverborn is that all things pass into Oblivion, so the substance of it matters not - it must die so that the titans can finally know peace.

What's the best meal you've ever cooked?

2013-11-20, 09:38 AM
I've cooked a lot of meals in my day. The most recent really good one that I can remember was a butternut squash lasagne with garlic bread, sauteed spinach, and dish of roasted butternut squash, sweet potato, apples and pears with cinnamon sugar and butter. There was also a pretty good bottle of wine, but I didn't cook that.

What was the most profound thought you had yesterday?

2013-11-20, 10:46 AM
It's probably "What if everyone and everything around me is just a complex illusion placed on me so that I don't realize the truth?"

2013-11-20, 03:25 PM
Simply because.

Would it be okay with you if we wrote a reminder of things you'd forget to do today otherwise, using a green magic marker, if it's all right, on the back of your head?

2013-11-20, 05:36 PM
That's totally fine by me, but you have to do it wearing tiny 70s gym shorts and sneakers with knee-high tube socks. Compromise.

Is there enough calcium in your diet?

Nix Nihila
2013-11-21, 11:20 PM
I do enjoy almonds and cruciferous vegetables, but I'd venture to guess that I get less calcium than most.

Do you have a favorite culinary tradition for the holidays among your family?

2013-11-22, 12:03 AM
Probably the day after Thanksgiving. See, we like to have people over for Thanksgiving, but... we're vegetarians, and everyone always wants turkey for dinner. So, we just bring everyone over the next night instead. It's awesome. It's like getting Thanksgiving dinner twice, only it's better the second time.

Quis tibi, saeve puer, dedit hoc in carmina iuris?

2013-11-22, 01:37 AM
I'm sorry, I'm not that far into Latin yet. I got "Who are you... Boy..."

2013-11-22, 11:47 AM

TPBM what is worst in life?

2013-11-22, 03:37 PM
Living on the same plane with lesser species, good prevailing over evil, CVMS (Compulsive Villain Monologuing Syndrome) People who say "infer" in the place of "imply."

What is your favorite way to prepare, or eat, steak?

2013-11-23, 12:17 AM
For both, my answer is "slowly!"

Cooking something a long time over very low heat gives a far greater degree of control.

What seasonings would you like on your steak?

Laughing Dog
2013-11-23, 09:46 PM
Garlic, Thyme, and Cinnamon please.

What is the strangest thing you've eaten?

2013-11-24, 04:18 AM
Have or will? Have is most likely alligator soup, will is kidney pie.

TPBM, what's wrong?

2013-11-24, 06:28 AM
Some certified genius of a customer accidentally tossed his keys into a hole, and our managers spent an hour searching for them for him while he complained at us. Y'know, there's worse places you could be you could have been stuck outside in the cold. :annoyed:

2013-11-24, 06:40 PM

Who do you love that everyone else seems to hate?

2013-11-24, 07:54 PM
Jar-Jar, though that may have had something to do with being two when Phantom Menace came out.

Is life meaningless?

Nix Nihila
2013-11-24, 10:24 PM
I don't think it's inherently meaningful. In any case, I think it's rather futile to search for it. But to paraphrase a line from Angel, if nothing we do matters, all that matters is what we do.

Is it possible to commit an immoral act with respect to yourself, or does an action have to impact someone else to be subject to moral judgement?

2013-11-24, 10:26 PM

To be, or not to be?

2013-11-24, 11:22 PM
What kind of question is that?!? :smalltongue:

What's the farthest you've gone, the most effort you've taken, just for the sake of being pedantic? (I, for instance, spent an hour just today reading about feral children for the sake of poking a hole in someone's tangent.)

2013-11-24, 11:36 PM
Spent two hours researching the etymological origin of 'factotum,' trying to determine whether the proper pluralization is 'factotums' or 'factota.' (If it's just derived from Latin words, say via French or something, then 'factotums' is probably preferable, whereas if it's a direct acquisition from Latin, 'factota' is usually better, given that the word isn't common enough to have become a fully-fledged English word rather than a loan. 'Exit' is an example of a word that originated as a loan word directly from Latin, but is both old enough and commonly used enough to have really turned into an English word and not a loan word- 'they' exit, 'they' don't exeunt. Turns out, it is a loan, but from a word coined in medieval Latin, so I have no idea.)

Why the hell do I have two tests on the same day, in both of my AP subjects, right before Thanksgiving?

2013-11-25, 08:03 AM
They're preparing you for college. Have fun with the easy stuff while it lasts.

Why do most Americans have a problem with Christmas songs before Thanksgiving?

Laughing Dog
2013-11-25, 02:02 PM
I believe it is the fact that we prefer to not have to deal with the stuff for a major holiday until we are done with all major holidays before that holiday.

Why do some people hate elves?

2013-11-25, 03:12 PM
Well, the fact that they're twisted abominations from beyond the edges of our reality is a factor; how they are false, hollow beings who thrive in our ordered world only through the consumption of the dreams and very souls of others seems like a contributing detail. How even the "nice" ones addict you to their gossamer presence, how they manage to have such an utterly inhuman perspective

But I guess some people might be just racist or something.

Hey, am I late for Gnome Week or something? :smallconfused:

2013-11-25, 03:21 PM
Seems so, it was ALREADY HERE and all.

2013-11-26, 10:45 AM
I'll answer that... Later.

Hey, TPBM, how can you do what you do?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-11-26, 10:50 AM
It's not easy. The days get long and the poetry more intense.

Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face?

2013-11-26, 11:03 AM
Thank you for noticing!

Actually, between beard and glasses and shaggy hair, you wouldn't see too much of my face.

Read any Lord Dunsany lately?

2013-12-02, 05:30 PM
Well, not recently. Or ever before. I've never heard of him either. But other than that, yes!

What muscle is your favorite? (not including muscle beaches)

Laughing Dog
2013-12-02, 05:51 PM
Tongue. It's not only the strongest muscle, it is also the one that allows me to engoy Popcorn.

What's your favorite pronoun?

2013-12-04, 02:43 PM
I like iste/ista/istud for the implied stank.

What's the oldest book you have touched?

@v Hey that's quite neat.

2013-12-04, 03:16 PM
A 1850's manual on how to outfit a Whaling Vessel for a whaling voyage successfully (my GGG-Grandfather was a whaling captain back when whales were plentiful, and the whales had a better than average chance at winning a given encounter)

HEy, next poster....Rock, Paper, Scissors, lizard, or Spock?

2013-12-04, 03:24 PM
Hm... Paper will biodegrade, scissors will rust and become useless, lizard and Spock will both die, but rock? Even if crushed up and scattered across the world, rock is forever.

If you made a country where you were the ultimate decider of all issues, foreign and domestic, what would the country be called?
