Ask the person below you a question.

Which is harder to break: the fourth wall, or willing suspension of disbelief?

2013-03-14, 02:46 AM
Tough one... the fourth wall is harder, I guess.

What will cause the end of the world?

Mauve Shirt
2013-03-14, 05:17 AM
I'd go into it but then politics would happen and we'd all get banned.

Have you ever been hellbanned from a website?

So, which 1980's/early 90's kid show villain is your favorite?

Gnomish Wanderer
2013-03-19, 09:04 AM

Do you have any D&D ideas that you think would be cool for me to implement into one of my campaigns?

2013-03-19, 10:11 AM
A null-gravity, 100ft. by 100ft. by 100ft. room with lots of floating, rapidly moving 5ft-diameter, 30-ft. long pillars that all are oriented to one of the three sets of opposite walls, and also lots of air elementals.

What is the largest explosion you have ever seen? (Actually seen, not seen pictures of. No Tsar Bomba. No supernovas or GRBs either.)

2013-03-19, 10:34 AM
The largest what? Air elemental? I'm afraid I haven't seen a lot of air elementals.

What did you have for breakfast?

Amidus Drexel
2013-03-19, 03:10 PM
Two glasses of water.

What is your favorite metal?

2013-03-19, 08:16 PM
Soulsteel, though moonsilver and orichalcum are pretty close.

Give me five dollars! Wait, that's not a question, argh!

Err, would you give me five dollars?

2013-03-19, 08:18 PM
Not for a million bucks.

I'd like a motorcycle? The question mark makes it a question.

2013-03-20, 12:42 AM
I'm sure we all do.

Got any suggestions for classical music?

advice for someone whose mentally and emotionally ill mother may be deliberately trying to drive to suicide?

@V I should mention she may be a sociopath

2013-03-22, 12:24 AM
Give them more attention, be super loving and kind. (kind of like you would to a young child or depressed teenager) Maybe, try and do fun things with them that they enjoy. And random acts of kindness throughout the day. :D (my Dad has a mental health problem, and when I was the only person living with him, it was tough, but yeah that kind of thing went a million miles to helping) (well that and reading the Bible, but yeah... religion... we won't go there)

What is the airspeed velocity of an unlaiden swallow, African and European?

Edit:@/\: 1. Seek advice from friends and loved ones who actually know both of you. 2. Only do as much as you can, no one can expect more. You'll push yourself too far. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." You may just need to accept their decisions even if they're poor ones. 3. Pray.

Gnomish Wanderer

They both fly at two whale counters per whistle, weirdly enough. The African swallow can occasionally reach a whale counter in a little under half a whistle, but the deviation isn't notable.

@V I should mention she may be a sociopath

Do you think she's trying to drive you to suicide, or do you think that she's contemplating committing suicide? In either case, I would advise talking to a professional about it. A therapist if possible, or if you're unable to reach one without the cooperation of your mother, a teacher, counselor, or person in a similar position.

Remember that you have a right to feel safe, and that someone being your parent doesn't give them the right to make you feel bad about yourself. Good luck. *offers hug*

Pencil. NEVER write a character sheet in pen.

u mad bro?

Nah, I'm chill.

@V Read any good books lately?

Amidus Drexel
2013-03-23, 03:52 PM
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency - Douglas Adams. Some crazy funny stuff, there. (but it's Douglas Adams, so that's to be expected). I had planned on rereading Anna Karenina (Tolstoy), but I don't know if I'll actually do that or not.

What is your favorite city, and why?

2013-03-23, 04:19 PM
Ottawa, because it makes me feel at home and has a good underground Punk/Metal music scene unlike where I currently live.

What is the difference between laser and plasma?

2013-03-23, 09:01 PM
We have a good idea how lasers work now, and that the weapons they'd make would be too good; for our cool space heroes to survive to the next episode, we've switched to plasma-based blasters.

It's sorta like how no one gets superpowers from plain ol' radiation anymore; now we use nanites and mutations and stuff. :smalltongue:

Ever have any humorous incidents with Autocorrect?

2013-03-24, 10:19 AM
Nope, my phone's not smart enough to be that dumb.

What's your favorite band?

Amidus Drexel
2013-03-24, 10:37 AM
Hair band. Keeps the stuff out of my face. :smalltongue:

Okay, I like way too much music to make any real decision. I couldn't even give you a top ten. I like broad, sweeping strokes of jazz, prog, blues, metal, and rock, and a decent handful of damn near everything else. If I listed all the artists I liked, I'd be here all day trying to remember them.

Have you seen the man with six fingers on his right hand?

2013-03-24, 02:05 PM

Whoa! You found the secret message!
@V Assuming you know what the fourth wall is, what is the fifth wall?

Mauve Shirt
2013-03-24, 02:09 PM
The ceiling. :smalltongue:

How would I turn a one-legged Prussian with a magic prosthetic into a Pathfinder character?

@V: When he actually uses his prosthetic leg, he moves really really really really fast. So he carries it around and uses a crutch most of the time.

2013-03-24, 02:17 PM
Depends; does the prosthesis do anything special?

@^: Would probably just be a custom magic item, then; doesn't cost too much to increase speed… what level game is it?

How large does a gryphon familiar have to be before it stops being useful?

2013-03-24, 02:18 PM
I don't care, as long as you send me the character sheet when you're done. That sounds awesome.

Sociopathy: good plan, or best plan?

2013-03-24, 02:20 PM
Bad plan.

Who would win in a fight, Harry Houdini or Oscar the Grouch?

Mauve Shirt

Houdini. Thumbs and all that.

PS the game is low magic and the characters start at 5th level.

Coffee or tea?

2013-03-24, 03:42 PM
I don't drink either; by the way, if it's a low-magic game, why are you trying for a character with a magic prosthesis?

How are you today?

Amidus Drexel
2013-03-24, 03:49 PM
I am somewhere between motivated and lethargic, and otherwise normal. I'm not sure if I want them to cancel my classes tomorrow or not.

What is your favorite word in this sentence?

2013-03-24, 11:05 PM
My favorite word in this sentence is defibrillator. Yes, I know that that technically isn't a valid answer, but I couldn't pass the opportunity. Aaaaannnnnd... It would have been better if you'd said "statement" instead of "sentence..."

Pirates or Ninjas? If you insist on me making I a proper question, just add "which are better:" to the beginning.

2013-03-24, 11:07 PM
Pirates, only because I'm pretty sure Shakespeare was secretly one.

Which animal that people don't usually eat do you think would be tastiest?

2013-03-25, 03:26 AM
Hmm... That is a tough one...
I'm tempted to say lion and grin evilly, but I won't because I don't think lion would actually be particularly tasty...
I can't think of anything. Mostly because everything I can think of is eaten in some part of the world and I don't know what you mean by "usually".

How are you today?

Mauve Shirt
2013-03-25, 05:27 AM
I don't drink either; by the way, if it's a low-magic game, why are you trying for a character with a magic prosthesis?
It's got low magic, but magic is still there as are magic items. Magic is just taboo. And I'm trying for it because nonmagical characters are BOOORIIIIIING.

What makes a nonmagical character interesting?

2013-03-25, 10:16 AM
Having magical weapons and potions and stuff.

Can you art well?

Amidus Drexel

I know kids in elementary school that draw better than me. :smallamused:

Which is better: steel cables, or twine?

2013-03-25, 11:07 AM
Depends on what you want to use it for.

I'm tempted to say lion and grin evilly, but I won't because I don't think lion would actually be particularly tasty...It really wouldn't. Meat-fed meat tends to be less energy-efficient than other kinds, and also tends to have higher levels of various toxins in its cells. Eating the meat of a hypercarnivore can potentially even give you heavy metal poisoning.

Hahahahahaha, see for yourself.
What an appropriate question for you to answer, Amidus.
No, not at all.
Since Amidus is an idiot, yes. I'd like to be free.
Yeah, I'll take freedom.
Hell, yeah.
Cool, dibs on Amidus's body.

What is the most RAM you've ever had on a computer?

2013-05-16, 12:38 AM
At one point, there was a stack of sticks of RAM sitting on top of my tower, but I'm not sure of the exact amount. All I know is that it was a lot.

Oh Wise and Insightful Person Below: Which do you prefer? Blue or purple?

Which of my Exalted avatars was your favorite?

Mauve Shirt

Have you ever felt the call of a gin and tonic but been forced to avoid its siren song?

2013-05-23, 04:55 PM
Not really. The copious amounts of extremely potent vodka in our cupboards beckons to me occasionally, but then I remember that I'm still about five years away from legal drinking age and my Russian heritage submerges again.

What's the recipe for a Blue Russian?

@V: Equal parts vodka, depression, and moody introspection. You muddle it slowly and leave it to sit overnight.

2013-05-23, 09:32 PM
You take one native of Novgorod and put them in an industrial freezer for seven hours or until done.

What's your favourite kind of hot beverage?

Amidus Drexel

Complete Dragon. Has a lot more appeal, as dragons are fantastic little things. :smalltongue:

What do you like and dislike about sliding screen doors?

How do you deal with headaches?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-02, 03:52 PM
By not having them, normally... I can't say I ever remember having a headache. Hrm... I'd advise doing what I do, then; listen to loud music and thrash around some until you feel better. (be careful of whiplash). Sugar and caffeine are optional. If this makes your headache worse... I don't know how to help you. :\

What's your favorite webcomic aside from OOTS?

2013-06-02, 03:54 PM
Probably Goblins. Thunt spins a mean tale and has some unique art too (though as with most webcomics it gets a lot better as time goes on and his style improves.) The whole thing starts out humorous and gets a LOT more serious - not unlike OOTS but with a lot fewer jokes the further in you get, even comparatively.

How do I console myself after spending 400 dollars on a suit?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-06-02, 04:31 PM
Spend 200 dollars on a pair of pants.

There's a spider on my DVD tray. What do?

2013-06-02, 11:23 PM
Eat the spider.

Eat the spider!

Should he eat the spider?

2013-06-03, 12:09 AM
No, he should make sure it's not a dangerous species and take something like a paper towel and move it somewhere else. No need to kill the creature, let it continue to serve you by killing insects. If he is bent on killing it then he should make sure it's not a dangerous species and eat the spider to gain the strength of all the insects it has devoured. Renfro and his master told me it works :smallwink:

Should I play a free mmo called Spiral Knights?

2013-06-03, 12:09 AM
Yes! Show those jerks who bites who! Top of the food chain!

Would you eat the spider?

Edit: Darn You Zy!

No, you should not, most free mmos suck.

Again. Would you eat the spider?

2013-06-03, 01:47 AM
No. They keep the insect population down.

What do you think of hats?

2013-06-03, 01:54 AM
Hats are cool. Red ones are great.

What's with this whole spider-eating thing? Who does that?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-06-03, 05:38 AM
You started it.

I still have a spider on my DVD tray. What can I do that doesn't involve eating it?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-03, 09:17 AM
Personally, I would just let it chill there. Maybe shoo it off the tray if you want to watch a movie. I'm normally fine with spiders, as long as I make sure they're not poisonous.

What is your favorite way of eating chocolate?

2013-06-03, 11:39 PM
Head first.

Do you like mudkipz?

When should we all get together and plot to kill Alucard? *dramatic lightning flash!*

2013-06-04, 03:18 AM
When shall we all meet again?
In thunder, lightning, or in rain?
When the hurlyburly's done,
When the battle's lost and won.

Unless you can't make it?

2013-06-04, 03:26 AM
I'm not comfortable with this line of discussion.

If someone paid you, would you eat a gem, such as sapphire or diamond?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-06-04, 04:28 AM
Depends on how much they paid me, I guess. It would need to be significantly more than the value of the gem.

Cola or lemon soda?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-04, 11:40 AM
Not sure. Probably the lemon, but that honestly depends on the lemon and the cola.

What is the most interesting shape you have twisted a paperclip into?

2013-06-04, 12:48 PM
I've made stars out of paperclips.

Are you any good at origami?

2013-06-04, 01:21 PM
Sadly no, and not for a lack of trying. My paper cranes look more like paper ducks.

Paper or plastic?

2013-06-04, 03:21 PM
Neither. I use reusable cloth bags.

If you were Paris of Troy, who would you give the golden apple to?

2013-06-11, 10:42 PM
I would have kept it. Seriously, golden apples (the solid gold kind anyway) don't grow on trees.

Ever been to Texas?

2013-06-11, 10:45 PM
Briefly, a few times.

Who's your favorite demigod?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-12, 10:39 AM
Tough choice. Most of the Greek heroes were pretty cool (although not all of them were demigods), and so were most mythological monsters in general (which were mostly demigods, from what I remember). Probably Hercules - although there are certainly others that I like.

What is the hardest choice you have to make when deciding what to have for dessert?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-06-12, 01:23 PM
I don't have a sweet tooth. I have the antithesis of a sweet tooth. I don't like sweet foods, I guess they just don't do it for me. I don't even have cake on my birthday.

Who is your favorite version of the Doctor? (the time lord, you silly little pedant, you)

2013-06-12, 03:14 PM
Eeesh. Tom Baker, David Tennant, or Jon Pertwee. The first is the classic standby and the second is the modern standby, but they both really do deserve it, and I think that the Third Doctor is really friggin' cool. I mean, he got his own lab at Unit, and he built a hovercar. A man after me own heart.

Speaking of which, am I the only one who thinks that the Seventh Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) looked a lot like Rowan Atkinson? (Who, incidentally, was the 'Ninth' Doctor in The Curse of Fatal Death.)

2013-06-13, 09:00 AM
Looking at the pictures, you're right, they do look alike.

TPBM would rather play football than football.

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-13, 09:03 AM
I don't seem to have much of a choice, do I? Well, I'll say no, even if it wasn't a question. :smalltongue:

What interesting things have you done recently?

2013-06-14, 01:19 AM
bought the stuff to learn about kumihuri jewelry

What type of job do you have?

2013-06-14, 01:48 AM
Work repairing nuclear reactors on board submarines. Incidentally, a good answer for the previous question as well.

Have any military service, or anyone in your friends/family?

2013-06-14, 04:23 AM
I'm personally a pacifist, but some of my uncles were in the army and so was my grandfather. Plus, some of the people I know from school have gone into the military.

What is your opinion on precious metals?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-14, 09:50 AM
Some of them are quite good conductors, and are therefore useful in electronics. Silver, especially. Sure, sometimes they're pretty, but I'd rather have a metal that does something cool (like say, cesium) or practical (tungsten, molybdenum, etc.) than one that just looks pretty.

Silver also tarnishes a green colour, so that's another point in its favor.

What is your favorite animal, excluding humans?

2013-06-14, 09:21 PM
Red Pandas. I mean, in most cases I act pretty much like an adult, but when I see this guy I just hbfdglfsafgkdffg. http://www.knoxville-zoo.org/sites/www/Uploads/images/Exhibits/panda1_709041545401.png

What currently living person scares you the most?

2013-06-14, 10:16 PM
Does zombie Elvis count?
Yes, that is both the answer and the question. Deal.

2013-06-14, 11:24 PM
Hmm... Maybe. It depends on how you define living.

Silver also tarnishes a green colour, so that's another point in its favor.

No it doesn't... Silver turns black when it tarnishes. It's copper that goes green.

How many hats should a person own?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-14, 11:40 PM
Exactly one. One should be thrifty with headgear.

And I'm not sure why I thought silver tarnished green... I'll put it down to lack of sleep.

Have you watched any good movies recently? (and if so, which ones)

2013-06-15, 12:22 AM
Yes, Star Trek IV the Return Home

Also I have some silver ware which has gotten a green tint to it, no idea why.

Do you know why it might have a green tint to it, oh great and terrible wise person below me?

2013-06-15, 12:24 AM
Seplando, risturanga.

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-06-15, 02:02 PM
Habeeb it.

Do you believe it?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-15, 04:16 PM
Nah, I'm intentionally doubting it to subvert its effectiveness. :smalltongue:

What is your favorite fruit, and is there any particular way you prefer it to be prepared?

2013-06-15, 08:03 PM
Kiwi, in bite-sized slices.

Do you know the Muffin Man?

2013-06-16, 07:37 AM
Who lives on Drury Lane? I don't think so... Though I have heard that he makes wonderful muffins.

On the matter of silver that shows signs of tarnishing green, that would likely be because sterling silver is about seven percent copper, which is more reactive than the silver, so corrodes first, and turns green.

What is your favourite variety of muffin?

2013-06-16, 11:11 AM
I like a good banana-nut muffin.

TPBM, has autocorrect ever significantly embarrassed you?

2013-06-16, 11:51 AM
I don't have a cell phone, so no. I do know its capacity for hilarious mess-ups, though.

Person below, in D&D and similar games, what character class do you prefer and why?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-16, 07:36 PM
I normally end up playing spellcasters, just because I'm one of the only people in the group that really knows how to play them well. I prefer wizards (necromancy (has some of my favorite spells in the game - no save debuffs rock) and conjuration (summoning and crowd control is fun) being the preferred schools), although I'd like to try playing a warlock or maybe a duskblade. I've had a few ideas for other characters of pretty much every class, but never had the opportunity to play them.

What's your favorite brand of pencil?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-06-16, 08:02 PM
Wow, when did I last use a pencil? That takes me back. No, I'm a keyboard fellow, myself.

What was the first album you bought with your own money?

2013-06-23, 02:01 PM
It was a Weird Al album. I forget which.

How did your first "Dwarf Fortress" fort fail?

2013-06-23, 04:12 PM
I really know nothing about that game, honestly.

If you owned any one animal, which was totally tame, could understand human speech, was the right size for you to ride on, and could speak human speech, what would it be?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-23, 04:20 PM
Velociraptor. And you can thank Dr. Mcninja for that idea.

TPBM, what temperature range are you most comfortable in?

2013-06-23, 04:22 PM
A (green and yellow striped) tiger. I grew up with He-Man. :smalltongue: Nah honestly probably some sort of giant wolf or a (suitably enlarged) deinonychus.

high-mid 60s to mid 70s (Fahrenheit), fairly normal for a human since our body puts the least energy into temperature control at some point in that range (I forget where the average is).

If you could (pseudo)genetically engineer a war mount from any herbivorous species what species would you pick?

2013-06-23, 05:12 PM
An ankylosaur. (I'd give it bionic rocket engines so it could go faster and fly and it would be SO COOL)

If you had to choose between free ice cream for a month and a 20% chance of free ice cream for a year, what would you choose?

Mauve Shirt
2013-06-23, 05:14 PM
20% chance. Missing out on a month of ice cream would drastically reduce the amount of pounds I gain. And if I won the whole year, well it's a whole year.

Do you prefer your drinks sweet or savory?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-23, 05:18 PM
Of those two? Sweet. I normally prefer a mix of sweet, sour, and bitter, though. (which, incidentally, is how really good lemonade tastes).

TPBM, what colour sofa do you like best?

2013-06-23, 05:23 PM
Black is classic, red can work.

What is your favorite way of eating potatoes?

2013-06-23, 05:27 PM
Mashed. Or fried. Or as fries.
Incidentally, the secret to good mashed potatoes? Two sticks of butter.

If a can is the height of two identical tomatoes and the radius of one, how many of those identical tomatoes would you have to crush and stuff into the can in order to completely fill it?

2013-06-23, 06:05 PM
Eh, not enough data.

What should I eat for dinner, Spaghettios, or a sandwich?

Mauve Shirt
2013-06-23, 06:22 PM
Sandwich. You can get infinitely more creative with a sandwich than with spaghettios.

What should I have next, lager, ale or G&T?

2013-06-23, 07:36 PM
Lager. I know nothing about alcohol, being 14. I just picked one.

Can a one-pound coconut be carried by an African swallow or a European swallow?

2013-06-24, 08:36 AM
Nope. Too heavy.

What is the square root of five hundred and forty six?

2013-06-25, 01:18 PM
23.37. And yes, I used a calculator for that.

When's the last time you had a vacation, and where'd you go?

Gnomish Wanderer

Who is your favorite character you've come up with?

2013-06-27, 06:21 PM
That's a toughie. I've been having fun lately getting into the head of my to-be PC for 3e, Cyrus the Beastman, but I don't make a character unless I think I'll enjoy it. Tykoga, Arch Whitman, L3NNĄ, Son of the Void Dragon, all have been fun characters.

Who made your avatar, TPBM?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-27, 06:21 PM
That's a tough one... I'm rather fond of a few. My favorite would probably be... John Sarza, an alienst NPC from the campaign I ran about a year ago. He had been (before the PC's met him) resurrected several times, and was one of three leaders of an eldritch-horror-worshipping cult. He was completely insane, and had a bunch of weird psychological and physiological quirks that made him pretty memorable.

@^ Alucard, you ninja. Elemental did, and I don't think I can thank him enough for it. :smallamused:

What's your favorite musical instrument to listen to?

Mauve Shirt
2013-06-27, 06:32 PM
Any musical instrument, as long as it's done skillfully! I do like it when my music has horns in it.

Can you recommend some non-mainstream ska bands? I've heard all the mainstream ones.

Moff Chumley
2013-06-29, 01:40 PM
Yes. Yes I can. :smalltongue: Shoot me a message on the bookface if you want more, but right now you should listen to Rx Bandits (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mq0j2Ot1NHo).

Didja miss me? (:smalltongue::smalltongue::smalltongue:)

Hey, which of my Masquerade-atars is your favorite?

Amidus Drexel
2013-06-29, 04:46 PM
I rather liked the desert one... I think it was the first one you wore this week.

What type of lightbulb do you like the best? (LED, incandescent, halogen, etc.)

2013-07-04, 06:04 AM
Hmm... Depends on what quality of light I require for the space.

@^ Alucard, you ninja. Elemental did, and I don't think I can thank him enough for it. :smallamused:

You are just too kind Mr. Drexel.

How are you this fine evening?

2013-07-05, 05:02 PM
It's currently midday for me, but I'm doing just fine, thanks for asking!

What's the absolutely single most terrifying thing you have ever done?

Mauve Shirt
2013-07-08, 05:21 AM
I'm emotionally dead, so very little terrifies me. Probably undergoing life-changing surgery.

What caffeinated beverage should I acquire?

2013-07-08, 08:07 AM
You should just get a jar of caffeine powder - then whatever you want will be yours to caffeinate!

What would you caffeinate first?

2013-07-08, 09:25 AM
The lamentation of my enemies. Failing that blood.

What is the best in life?

2013-07-09, 05:28 AM
To wake up in the morning and know that there are no worries to deal with that day.

Wouldn't you agree?

2013-07-09, 08:48 AM
Nah; stress is part of life, and even if you have nothing to worry about, you'll have something soon enough. :smallsigh:

When's the last time you ate fast food?

2013-07-09, 08:56 AM
A month or two back.

What is your favorite finger food?

Amidus Drexel
2013-07-11, 12:39 AM
Hrm... Pizza. Alternately, ribs.

Which OOTS strip is your favorite?

2013-07-11, 12:53 AM
That's a tough one. I'd have to say... The one where Roy goes all Killswitch- mode on Xykon when his sword breaks.

TPBM what thread in this forum of "Silly Message Board Games" is your favorite?

2013-07-11, 01:21 PM
Eh, it changes, but right now I'd have to say "Guilty or not Guilty". Or maybe "Reverse Questioning".

Do you have any recommendations on books to read?
@V I'll look it up. Thanks.

2013-07-11, 01:51 PM
I just got through with some Zelazny; might I recommend Nine Princes in Amber?

Which of Robert E. Howard's Conan stories is your favorite?

2013-07-11, 02:08 PM
That's a hard one. Phoenix on the Sword is good, but a little rough around the edges, Tower of the Elephant is the first one I ever read and has a special place in my heart. I can't remember the name of it, but I liked the one with the giant slug, too.

Person Below Me, what would be a good tv show to watch?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-07-12, 03:17 AM
The Shield is really good and not talked about often enough here on GitP. Ulterior motive!? Me?

What was the last movie you went to go see in the cinema?

2013-07-12, 08:47 AM
Man of Steel. Before that, the Hobbit, and before that, nothing. My past at the movies is rather small.

Do you play bass?

2013-07-12, 10:53 PM
Yes, watch. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m80jt6bm6ZA)

I'm glad we caught you at home. Can we use your phone?

Amidus Drexel
2013-07-12, 11:01 PM
I mean, you can. It isn't charged, though. I hope you don't mind waiting a bit.

What sort of sunflower seeds are your favorite?

2013-07-13, 12:53 AM
I like them baked, with little to no flavoring. Salt is fine, but if I wanted the taste of ranch, I'd get ranch-flavored chips.

Which H.P. Lovecraft story is your favorite?

2013-07-14, 01:41 AM
I have only read "Call of Cthulhu", so that one.

Imperial or Stormcloak?

Imperial, all the way.

How are you this dreary afternoon?

2013-07-18, 12:50 AM
Pretty good, considering its 1:48 AM and I'm watching Psych while posting on my favorite forum

So TPBM, what's a good movie you've seen recently?

DJ Yung Crunk
2013-07-18, 04:06 AM
Reservoir Dogs, of course. On DVD, since we don't have Netflix down here.

Why am I Mr. Pink?

What would you play, were I to run a game of Shadowrun for you?

2013-07-18, 09:01 AM
Not knowing anything about Shadowrun, I shall give a vague answer.

A guy who does things that hopefully prevent himself and others from dying an unnatural and painful death.

How are you this fine evening?

2013-07-18, 09:55 AM
It's morning where I am. I haven't taken a shower yet, which I need to do to feel properly awake, but otherwise I'm okay.

Do you have any advice on cooking chicken curry?

2013-07-18, 12:12 PM
No, unfortunately, beyond making it a bit less spicy than some do.

Do you dislike asparagus?

2013-07-18, 02:58 PM
Not at all, it's actually one of my favorite veggies to eat, especially steamed or sauteed.

So how's the weather been in your area lately?

2013-07-18, 03:41 PM
It's rained like three times total since the move, but yesterday it was thundering all day. :smallsigh:

Not at all, it's actually one of my favorite veggies to eat, especially steamed or sauteed.

Tap water or well water? (or distilled, but then I'll have to punch you).

What's the most frustrating thing to happen to you recently?

Probably none of them. I have a feeling they're all better at combat than I.

What should I do about my sore throat?

Mauve Shirt
2013-07-20, 09:48 AM
The most often provided advice is tea with honey and lemon in it, but I can tell you from first hand experience that the best cure for what ails you is salted caramel hot chocolate with whiskey in it.

Man, doesn't that sound good right about now?

Nix Nihila
2013-07-20, 10:12 AM
I'm too hot to want to drink a warm beverage at the moment, but that does sound delicious.

If you drink coffee, do you do so primarily for the taste or the caffeine? If you are not a coffee-drinker, what is your beverage of choice?

2013-07-20, 10:23 AM
Taste. I'm short enough already, I don't need to stunt my growth any more. Besides, I drink mostly espresso, and if I didn't drink decaf the caffeine would add up fast.

Butter: salted or unsalted?

2013-07-20, 10:53 AM
Depends on what I'm using it for. These double-chocolate white chocolate macadamia nut cookies? I used unsalted.

Do you want one?

2013-07-20, 11:09 AM
Now that you mention them, yes.

Are you particularly fond of macadamia nuts?

2013-07-20, 10:02 PM
I won't say no to a double-chocolate white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. if that's what you're asking.

Why am I still at work on a Saturday?

2013-07-20, 10:05 PM
Because you like money, and money is good, so you want more.

TPBM, what thread do you like most on this forum?

Amidus Drexel

Random Banter. :smallcool:

What's the best sandwich you've ever had?

2013-07-21, 05:42 AM
That's a toughie. I eat a lot of sandwiches, and if burgers count, then I'm totally lost. :smalleek:

Okay, thin crust, bacon, sausage, ham, extra sauce.

And some dog buiscuts, on the side, for the puppies.

Who is your favorite character from the Lord of the Rings series?

2013-07-22, 03:36 PM
Hard to say. Either Frodo or Faromir. Frodo carried the ring so far and while Samwise is the only one shown to fully resist its effects the circumstances needed for that wouldn't have applied to him attempting to carry it to Mount Doom himself. Frodo showed strength of resolve and spirit unmatched in the story. Faromir on the other hand was a bit character but performed a good bit of contrast with his brother, father, and Aragorn. Faromir showed wisdom, and the ability to command without falling to the lure of rule, and what a steward or regent should be, compared to Boromir who though good at heart lacked wisdom, Denethorn who fell to ambition and lust for power, and even Aragorn who had a greater difficulty resisting the same temptations as Faromir but ultimately was the bigger hero of the two.

Picard, by a mile. I love Kirk and Sisko, but you just can't beat ol' Bald 'n' Manly. :smalltongue:
