It's aliiiive! ALIIIIIVE ! (http://finance.yahoo.com/news/twinkies-due-on-shelves-by-summer-as--410-million-bid-ok-d-220652823.html)

My plans for surviving the zombie apocalypse with the help of filling cream-filled cakes is back on track.

Tongue-in-cheek,

Well, there goes my plan of selling them fifty years down the road as historic curiosities. :smallannoyed:

It's not a big deal. Little Debbie's has Cloud Cakes, and they're the same exact thing except they never stopped production. I had thought that they bought the rights to twinkie, since it makes sense that a competitor would be waiting on the edge of their seat to steal brands from a failing business but maybe they already had Cloud Cakes and they're just a knock-off? Does it matter?

You could probably still sell ones from the old production as collectors items.:smallcool:

I've always wondered, as I don't think you can get them in my country, what do they taste like?

They taste like creme-filled cake. Unsurprisingly, that's exactly what they are.

Yeah, but "creme" can cover a multitude of sins--for instance, the filling of a Cadbury's Creme Egg probably bears very little relation to a Twinkie (at least, I hope that's the case!).

Judging from the prices some people were getting from selling 'last boxes'? Yes. Remember, the money in speculation is almost always made by the people selling to the people who think something is going to increase in value...

A thick, bland whipped cream. It's very light, almost like the light confectionary frosting you get on prefab cakes. It's weight an it's resiliency are almost at odds, though. Any whipped cream I could make would be heavier at that level of structure, or too light and not able to hold its shape.

Spray whipped cream on packing material, that's close enough :).

You know that they would jump at the first opportunity to resurrect as non-union, right?

So, the Twinkie bubble has burst. All those creamy speculators are now bankrupt. Have any of them thrown themselves off tall buildings ? What effect has this had on Wall St. ?

So, zombie twinkies?
I was beaten to the zombie twinkie joke. :smallfrown: But not the irony of surviving the zombie apocalypse by eating zombie snacks! :smalltongue:

<<Insert Altered Beast reference here>>

I thought about making an image of that for the joke...but figured that by the time I actually finished it someone (like you!) would beat me to the punchline. And dammit, beaten to the other joke by Pendell while I was previewing my post!

I personally find Twinkies disgusting, but feel free to get back to me when the zombie Ding-Dongs are back on the shelves.

You could probably do it better than me, but excellent idea and worth giving it a shot:

For fun, Make tesla coil, Use Twinkies as output terminal.

As a side note, Do not do this in a structure that burns
