Clarion Call & Bunnies

Could an NPC use the Clarion Call (from ToB) effect after say killing a bunny?

Could said NPC then carry around a sack full of bunnies so they can easily inspire the their troops without having to engage the PCs?

Ultimately it's a DM call, but I think many would say that a bunny does not qualify as an "opponent." A bunny does not oppose you. Were it an attacking wolf, sure, but a bunny you brought along, I think not.

However, Martial Spirit only requires that you make a successful attack. At this point the only problem is what to give the bunny for stats. For all I know there are stats for rabbit out there, but if you can agree on your DM what to stat it out as, that should work just fine. Hell, you could pound rocks all day to heal yourself, as long as the object has stats to hit.
