Non Psionic, Psionic Tricks?

Question, if a psionic raced character takes a class that does not use power points, is their anything they can do with the few power points that is worth while, or should it be considered useless?


I.E.

Half giant takes duskblade

They still have 2 power points, but otherwise nothing they can really do with them.


Any way they can make use of them stil though?

Having a powerpoint reserve means that you can establish psionic focus, and therefore gain the benefit of all those feats that use it. You can also take Hidden Talent (XPH p.67) to get 2 more PP and a power known, and manifest it as a level 1 manifester.

Dragon # 349 have some feats for caster/manifester.
For example, Cerebremetamagic allow to spent PP to pay for metamagic slot adjustment multipled by 2. So, half-giant will be able to cast still or silent spell 1/day without slot adjustment.
Chameleon Crafting will allow to create magical items charged with psionic powers or psionic items with spells. (Assuming you have necessary creation feat) Such as Wand of Astral Construct...

Even without feats like psionic weapon, having psionic focus lets you take 15 on a concentration check. This may occasionally be useful if you need to cast defensively or under difficult circumstances.
