Illusion Spells and the Gnome Domain

Hello again! After pondering on some more character concepts I came across the idea of a gnome cleric. He'd be a typical good guy, devoted to helping the gnomish people and championing their ideals. As such, I'd likely give him Gnome as one of his domains. With the power of said domain giving +1 CL to Illusion spells, I got curious as to what kind of illusions a cleric has access to.

Looking at the cleric spell list however, it seems like a cleric does not in fact get all that many illusion spells. The domain itself gives a few but all in all it doesn't seem like a cleric with that domain would get a lot of mileage out of that power.

Is there something I'm missing, or am I pretty much on the money with that assessment?

You can use this (http://www.imarvintpa.com/dndlive/FindSpell.php) to check what illusion spells clerics get. Gnome domain gets you a few. Also check out this guide (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19872354/Shadowcraft_Mage_Handbook) (you can build an awesome cleric with this PrC).

Haha, thanks. That picture says all that is needed. xD

The Shadowcraft Mage would work pretty well, especially if I choose Trickery as the other domain. Although the book says, "The requirement for a 4th-level spell from the shadow subschool restricts this class to arcane spellcasters." it's considered an outdated statement now I'm guessing?

Dark Way (Spell Compendium) is Illusion(Shadow) spell, on cleric list on level 2. Heighten it to 4 and you can enter Shadow Craft Mage.

EDIT: Also "Skull of Secrets", Cleric 4 spell from Illusion(Shadow). You can find it in Magic of Faerun, page 119.

I think it would be fun, but you would want to be using the spontaneous domain rule (from PH2) or play a spontaneous cleric (from UA/SRD).

Check out the Trickery and Shadow domains also.
There's probably no point taking both the Gnome and Illusion domains.

Plainer touchstone can get you that domain on any caster at 6th level. Just food for though.
