Anyone know any good fantasy fonts? I've got the Oblivion and Skyrim fonts, as well as some hieroglyphs, but I'd like to add to my list. So anyone got any recommendations?

Ancient Heron script is from Fire Emblem, quite elegant and flowing; I use it quite frequently for pretty much everything.

There is a Gallifreian translator which produces the resulting image, which is fantastic.

There were also a number of Norse Rune fonts somewhere.

You can also make your own font if you have any artistic bend.

As long as you're not using these online (where these only work if every viewer needs to install them on their own comptures), but for other stuff... download a custom font!

Here are some collections that might be useful.

Foreign Look:

Beech (http://www.dafont.com/beech.font) and Samarkan (http://www.dafont.com/samarkan.font)

Olde English (http://www.dafont.com/olde-english.font)

Elvish runes:

The elvish runes collection especially has some nice ones that replace the normal alphabet with something new that isn't legible. There are some readable ones too, like the Hobbiton brush hand (http://www.dafont.com/hobbiton-brush-hand.font) that looks like Tolkien's elvish, but is legible as English.

I'm not sure if it fits what you're looking for, but "Book Antiqua" tends to look pretty good as well, though it tends to fit notes and books better then things such as signs

Garamond (Premier or Adobe, not the default one) and Bembo are about as authentic as legible Renaissance era typefaces get, and the closest you will get to replicating the appearance of old documents without it looking tacky.

Elvish runes:

The elvish runes collection especially has some nice ones that replace the normal alphabet with something new that isn't legible..

If you go with the runes, though, read up on the subject. Tengwar (elvish script) has a very particular orthography, and in addition the letters aren't mapped directly to the keyboard; the "s" key in a Tengwar font won't get you a silme, the Tengwar s. If you just want something that looks cool, you can go ahead and type randomly and you will get a string of interesting characters, but it won't actually say anything.

This (http://www.sci.fi/~alboin/tengwartutorial.htm#thefonts) is a good guide, and this (http://at.mansbjorkman.net/tengscribe.htm) is a program that will (not perfectly, but pretty well) generate a Tengwar transcription of text written in a Latin alphabet.

I highly recommend Tengwar Annatar, one of the fonts linked to, if you want Tengwar. It is the font in my sig, and has an italic version that is much more ornate and flowing.

Blambot (http://www.blambot.com/) is a great resource for fonts, and most of them are free. Look under "Fantasy" on this page (http://www.blambot.com/fonts_design.shtml).
