So in PF do you count as your own ally as in 3e or did they change it like in 4e where only your friends, and not yourself, count as allies?

Do you count as your own ally?

You count as your own ally unless otherwise stated or if doing so would make no sense or be impossible. Thus, "your allies" almost always means the same as "you and your allies."

Thanks. It makes a certain class feature fairly silly but oh well I guess I would take it if that game ever materializes.

excellent - i had a similar issue with the ranger skirmisher recently. Now i know where to find it i can show it to my dm as he didn't believe me.
