It seems kind of wack that in addition to all the things that spell casters can do that melee can't, modifying their attack is one of them. With the proper feat investment, a caster can cast the same spell many times and have a different numeric effect each time. For the most part, mundanes can't do this.
ToB fixed this somewhat, but I think it would be cool if mundanes had "attack modifier" feats that could be attached to normal attacks to additional effects. The standard cost would probably be an attack penalty, but other things would be possible
Some fun and useful effects -
blinding
dazing
stunning
deafened
sickened
Additionally, the original combat maneuvers, like trip, bullrush, etc, should probably be incorporated in to the system.
