Which strip do you think will be the final strip number of book 5? I'm personally going down for 925.

999.

On 23 January 2013, the ceasefire was broken, with the government blaming Seleka for breaking the ceasefire[16] and Seleka blaming the government for allegedly failing to honor the terms of the power-sharing agreement[17]. By 21 March, the rebels had advanced to Bouca, 300 km from the capital Bangui.[17] On 22 March, the fighting reached the town of Damara, 75 km from the capital,[18] with conflicting reports as to which side was in control of the town.[19] Rebels overtook the checkpoint at Damara and advanced toward Bangui, but were stopped with an aerial assault from an attack helicopter.[20] The next day, however, the rebels entered Bangui, heading for the Presidential Palace.[21] On 24 March, François Bozizé fled the country after rebels took the presidential palace.[22] Rebel leader Michel Djotodia declared himself president later the same day.[23]

I'm going to go with 929. Plenty of time to wrap things up, but not too long.

918. 43 strips between Roy's death and the end of the arc, 43 for Durkon as well.

Why? What makes you think it will be some random number dozens of strips away? You have no idea what's gonna happen then? You want to know the final strip of book 5? It's 881+x.

As long as x can be 0 or negative.

The same reason we have a character death pool, a pool on how many rounds the Malack v Belkar fight was going to last, somewhere around 8 threads dedicated to arguing about what the MiTD could be, and everything else we discuss.

For fun. Take a chill pill, dude.

Can I play a range? Within 5 strips. If I have to pick one, 885.

I don't think Team Evil is going to show up until next book. No reason for that, I just do.

If a range, I'd say within 5 of 900. I think we're very close, at most 20 strips away. Not everything in the desert has to be resolved between the covers of book 5, after all.

DCF 120
NCftPB 300
War 484
DStP 672

4 is the largest common factor, so i'm going to guess #0896.

I think we're less than 10 strips away from the end. It'll be over before 890.

I'll go for 886.

But what's the logic behind it? What's the reason to guess that number?

Because it's fun.

If you don't find it so, no-one's forcing you to play.

Even if it is fun, we can still ask why you picked a particular number:smallannoyed:
Why 886?

Just a feeling that we're getting close to the end of the book. It feels like about the same point in the battle as this (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0478.html), with one of the Order dead, another separated, and all looks hopeless. About 5-10 strips to go, some of them 3 pages long.

895, give or take a couple. I think a few of the strips that are left in this arc will be double or triple pages.

I think 920 - because while I agree, I think the Order's fights are about at an end, I think the arrival of Team Evil and their subsequent conflict with Tarquin are going to take up a few strips (prob 15-20 or so). Add in a few strips for Roy wangsting about whether to blow up the gate or not, and 920 seems about right.

Because that's enough space for a battle but wouldn't make the book too crazy long. I could easily be wrong, though. As for the general purpose, because it's fun. It's the same reason people spend so much time speculating on what the title will be.

Also, while the rules on this aren't hard and fast, n probably works better in the context you're trying to use it than x. n tends to refer to positive integers, while, x can refer to any real numbers.

I actually doubt there's time in this book to do a battle properly. We'll be done before 890 - I'd say 888 if forced to pick a single strip - and the last panel will be Xykon, Redcloak and MiTD teleporting in. :smallcool:
