I've never played the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games but I saw the series uses a grid-based system for their attacks that could translate well into either special attacks or spells.
My problem is I can't really visualize what the types of ranges are (a picture diagram would be awesome!), compared to the DnD terms such as blast, cone, ray, emanation, burst.

So would the Priority moves be a flat-footed/no AoO melee attack, but does the user then move up to that range and reposition there, or is it like shooting an arrow?
