What's something that's not natural for Elan?

Time for a hint it seems.

Hint: It's something that comes naturally to Belkar.

The only think I could think of is "not looking aggressive (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0841.html)", although that's something that Elan naturally is, and Belkar naturally isn't, instead of the other way around.
So I guess the answer is "looking aggressive"?

If correct, OQ.

Hint time! The three was rolled on a d8, but it's not a damage roll.

Also, I don't play D&D, so can someone who does sate my curiosity. I'm guessing from this question that Prismatic Spray has a different effect based on the colour, as selected by the roll of a d8. But I see 7 colours, so what happens when you roll an 8?

The target gets hit by two rays instead of one, so you reroll the dice ignoring any additional eights.

Oh, or a critical hit from an icy burst (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0615.html) longbow.

That is correct :) A longbow does 1d8 damage, x3 on crit, so add 2d8. Icy Burst adds 1d6 cold damage to every hit, and 2d10 (for a x3 weapon) on crit. 3d8, 1d6, and 2d10 from a single attack!

(No, a glaive-glaive-glaive-guisarme wouldn't use three different types of die, and we never see anyone attack with one in-comic, let alone whether that exists at all. One of the rules is "Questions have to have an answer that is demonstrated by at least one [...] canon online strip." Haley is definitely critting when there is a *burst!* sound effect though.)

Seconding the chlorine elemental.

5.88*10^-26 kg, or 5.88*10^-23 g, is approximately the weight of one molecule of chlorine. (Multiply by Avogadro's number and you get the atomic mass of chlorine, 35.4.)

By that logic, an arbitrary grouping of any molecules that exist but are not individually depicted in any scene in the comic count as satisfying the answer requirements.

"Hey look! 5.88*10^-26 kg of fabric from Belkar's tunic. Hey look! 5.88*10^-26 kg of oxygen. Hey look! 5.88*10^-26 kg of sand."

Good luck proving those quantities.

By that logic, an arbitrary grouping of any molecules that exist but are not individually depicted in any scene in the comic count as satisfying the answer requirements.

"Hey look! 5.88*10^-26 kg of fabric from Belkar's tunic.
Fabric is generally made of several different elements, so it's a safe bet that the smallest quantity of material that could still be considered "fabric" would contain too many molecules to achieve such a low weight.

Hey look! 5.88*10^-26 kg of oxygen.
A single molecule of oxygen is too light, and if you try to add more, there's no quantity of oxygen that could hit that weight.

Hey look! 5.88*10^-26 kg of sand."
A single molecule of sand would be too heavy.

Even if you try to come up with impossible molecules made from combinations of atoms that are lighter than chlorine, you'll have a hard time coming up with something of that weight, and anything heavier is automatically disqualified. So items like Belkar's lead sheet, gold pieces, or any metal weapon can be immediately ruled out.

Yes, the question was "find something that weighs X". X is how much one of the chlorine elemental's molecules weighs, not how much a chlorine elemental weighs.

Well, if a person is looking at a chlorine elemental, wouldn't that same person also be staring at an enormous quantity of chlorine molecules?

Yes but that doesn't matter, the question was "find one thing", the fact that there are more than one of them in the panel does not affect the answer.

Guys, look, the question has already been answered. I do think it was a strange question and that we probably shouldn't try anything else like that, (the weight of Chlorine = never referenced in the comic) but can we please move on?

petersohn

The part about dying for your country is from Patton, so we have at least one real world reference on that page. So we have one more to go.

Edit: The question didn't specify that the speeches need to be real, so while the Henry V and the Mark Anthony ones are probably not what the asker wanted, they technically counts. So there are at least 3 references to speeches from different real world political figures, from which at least 1 is an actual speech, not a fictional one.

So the current question is this:

Find me an instance when Xykon makes two references in just two words directed at someone.

"Political" implies real-world in my view, but that's debatable, I guess. And Patton never was a political figure. But I didn't want to slow things down with a discussion of that nature, so I let it pass. I guess I'll find an opportunity to the question again later in a reworded form... or maybe not.
