I seem to recall there being a way to reduce time taken to craft an item, such that more than one could be made in a day, or some such thing.

Really, if someone can clarify the crafting rules, that'd be a big help. We're playing PF, not really sure how that might affect it.

How crafting works (relevant rules here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items#TOC-Magic-Item-Creation)):
1. I see a neat item and I want to craft it rather than buy it. For this example, a Belt of Giant Strength +2 (https://sites.google.com/site/pathfinderogc/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/a-b/belt-of-giant-strength).
2. Get the Craft Wondrous Item feat.
3. Be able to cast Bull's Strength (such as by having 3 levels of Wizard, having it as a Sorcerer spell known, etc.).
4. Amass 2,000gp to create the item (half its base price, the gold is spent at the beginning of step 5). Get "a laboratory or magical workshop, special tools, and so on. A character generally has access to what he needs unless unusual circumstances apply." Also get "some sort of equipment or tools to work on the item. She also needs a supply of materials, the most obvious being the item itself or the pieces of the item to be assembled."
5. Spend 4 days crafting the item (1 day per 1,000gp base price) in "a fairly quiet, comfortable, and well-lit place in which to work. Any place suitable for preparing spells is suitable for making items."
6. Choose a number between "the minimum level needed to cast [Bull's Strength]" and your caster level. This becomes the item's caster level. Then make a Spellcraft check with DC equal to 10 + the item's caster level.
If you succeed the Spellcraft check, the item is created. Otherwise return to step 4.

There are ways to fiddle with the DC (such as crafting twice as fast) and more specific requirements for some items (such as weapons), but that's the basic method.

Here (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=7274.0)'s a list of cost reducers for 3.5, your DM may apply them to PF too. Since there's no PF update for them, they're PF legal.

Hopefully that helps.
