I need help making a stealth based cleric. The starting level is 6th and all sources are allowed. I'm thinking straight cloistered-cleric for my build though I'm flexible. I'm not set on a race though I'd prefer something other than human. What feats/dips/races/templates do you recommend. Are there any spells that are good for a stealth cleric?
Background:I'm in a solo game. The premise is that I'm a a minor noble charming and assassinating my way to political power. I decided that I wanted to be a halfling (or other non-human race, I'm not set on halfling) trying to usurp control of his ancestral homeland from the human kingdom which has ruled it for hundreds of years. I decided to be a cleric (of the cause: my lineage is awesome and I deserve control of my homeland) because I've never played a cleric before and a high-tier class is probably best in a solo game. Since it is supposed to be mostly cloak and dagger I decided that basing my cleric on stealth could be a good idea. The cleric handbooks I read said that stealth clerics were possible, though they didn't go into much detail about how to make one.

How about a Whisper Gnome (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20040807a&page=3)?

Cloistered cleric with just enough rogue levels for going into Divine Trickster (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9623145#post9623145) if homebrew is allowed? (I love that PrC and wonder why there is not official version of it.)

That would make for a pretty nice stealth\sneak\skillmonkey\cleric type of char.

My way is better. No rogue levels needed! ;) ;)

However, it requires DM to rule that a non kobold can take a reflavored kobold domain.

Whisper gnome looks good. The DM said a non-kobold could have the kobold domain. Are there any need-to-have spells for a stealth cleric?

There's plenty of great stuff... what level are you starting at?

Trickery Domain (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spellLists/clericDomains.htm#trickeryDomain) is a must-have for Hide. I'll second Norin's Whisper Gnome (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20040807a&page=3) advice. The Kobold Domain grants trapfinding... which is useful (as you don't have a party rogue), but it's not required. I'm not sure how to get Move Silently... but as a Cleric, you can just cast Silence, pick up some Metamagic Rods of Silence (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/rods.htm#metamagicSilent), and maybe take the Silent Spell feat.

Oh yes, and see if your DM will let you take Drow Sign Language. It's not normally useful outside a party, but you might be able to convince him to let you make/purchase items where the command word is in Drow Sign.

There might presumably be a Common Sign Language, hahaha...

I think those are called somatic components, Gavin.

Those handbooks were helpful, thank you. One of them mentions that you can qualify for shadowcraft mage if you use some tricks though it doesn't explain the tricks. shadowcraft mage looks like it would fit my character however, I'm not sure how to meet the requirements as a cleric. Could someone who understands the trick explain it to me?
