Discard the real world. Treat the character in question as if they had any technology assited abilities replaced by magical power in the DnD universe.

I will start

Dr. Mark Greene from ER.

When we meet him he is already an accomplished healer. At least Cleric 8.

He develops well, gaining levels and skill and depth of character.

He dies of a brain tumor after being reunited with his most important loved ones. (In-game, I guess some sort of psionic parasite got him)

Cleric 15 at death. NG alignment.

Hero.

David C. Giuntoli

But known for playing as Nick Burkhardt in Grimm.

Should he be a ranger, rogue, or a fighter? Maybe take levels in a couple of them?

Neutral good would probably be the best alignment for him (tell me if I'm wrong).

Now he would be a D&D character I would want to play as.
