Which are the situation that gear will take dmg?
armors weapons &/or other things a PC (or NPC) may carry..
i suppose some aoe spells in which a PC is in, may cause dmg to his armor or
weapon or backpack...
maybe a players armor may have sustained some dmg from fighting...
how i know when and how much dmg?
also.. does magic gear take dmg?

and for last... if a player wearing leather armor (or any leather gear) get too wet,
should i rule he takes some dmg from leather shrinkage? or these gear is supposed
to be treated so it doesn't shrink?

Generally speaking, Gear only takes damage when it's specifically targeted.

Yes. realistically some armor should get battered and broken along with it's wearer, but for ease of bookkeeping, weapons and armor only take damage when they're being sundered.

Unattended equipment is damaged just as any other objects. Attended (worn, wielded, etc.) objects are only damaged by Sunder (the combat maneuver; doesn't apply to armour), when you roll Nat 1 against a spell (as detailed here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicOverview/spellDescriptions.htm#itemsSurvivingafteraSavingTh row)), or when a spell or an effect specifically targets the item (such as rust monster's touch).

Also note that some items, if they are destroyed can pretty much cause a chain reaction. Like a Necklace of Fireballs, magical wands/staffs, alchemical bomb items, etc.
