Reading through feats for spellcasters I found skeleton summoning and fell in love. Great flavor for any necromancer.
However, after the novelty wore off I noticed that it is rather useless. Adding the skeletons to the summons lists is good, but the adding skeleton template really just makes the creature weaker.
I was wondering if anyone else thought it would be fair to edit the feat to add the skeletal champion template instead.
I am also considering having augment summoning increase cha instead of con for skeletal summons.
I think these changes make the feat actually add power to the build instead of just flavor.

Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions?

I think the Cha bonus in place of Con seems like a reasonable fix, but I believe skeletal champion would be a CR increase, and perhaps you could get the DM to agree to apply that to monsters from the previous monster summon list.. IE with monster summon II you could get a skeletal champion from the monster summon I list.
