Looking at these two feats, they seem to do the same thing, but Alacritous Cogitation seems to do it better. Why would one take Uncanny Forethought when the other is on the table?

Alacritous has the caveat that it can only be used once per day no matterhow many slots you leave open, a feat you can only use once a day is rather limiting, aside from that the full round action thing for all spells you use it on can be a hassle.

Alacritous Cogitation lets you, once per day, cast a spell from a slot you left empty, as a full round action.

Uncanny Forethought lets you, INT times per day, either cast a spell you picked for Spell Mastery as a standard action, or replicate the effects of Alacritous Cogitation at CL-2.

Given how precious feat slots are, Uncanny Forethought is easily the better feat.
