How does scouting work, with a conjurer?

Like, if I want to summon a tiny spider, and use its tremor sense to tell me what is around a dark corner, how do I the summoner know what the spider senses?

Is it automatic? Do I just sense everything my summons sense?

Not at all, you'd need some way to communicate with it. I suggest getting the Summon Elemental reserve feat if you're a high enough level, so you have an unlimited supply of elementals to call on. Air Elementals can fly up high to scout, and you get the same Tremorsense that you want from an Earth Elemental. If you know the right languages (Auran, Terran, Ignan, Aquan) then you can chat with them freely.
