I was thinking, the great thing about table-top games is that you traveled back in time, regardless of the time period, you'd still be able to play. You might need to whittle some dice, but other than that, you're good to go for the most part.

I was thinking about what it would be like to live in a different time period, and most of my pass times would be out the window, but I'd still have pen and paper games.

Well if you go too far back people won't understand math or written language :smalltongue:

I guess I'd have to teach them to read and write, then teach them about THAC0.

If you go that far back, you won't have to worry about playing tabletop games. Instead, you'll be living them.

I had an idea that tabletop games will be popular entertainment on extraterrestrial colonies and outposts. A little hard drive space for the rule books and modules, some recycled plastic for a 3D printer to make dice and, voila, you got a game.

I'm impressed - a genuine new thought.

When I talk about the great things about table top games, I only think about things I've experienced.

In Kevin Anderson's Gamearth trilogy, the characters of a table-top game relaxed and trained their minds with table-top games. Which always ended in TPK, because you can't always win! :smallamused:
