Act 1: I Am The Spirit That Negates
Three weeks ago at the least, the settlement of Freyfield had a population of 81. A farming town, Freyfield grew up around the great overland shipping route known as the Gold Road winding through the hills from the northeast to the southwest, and shrunk with it as well.
The only settlements nearby are Newacre to the southwest along the road, and beyond it the town of Summerton - the reason being that the Gold Road attracted its fair share of robbers, raiders and the like. Freyfield is thus built around a fortress on a tall hill, one of a series built along the Gold Road meant to act as pit stops, so that caravans didn't have to sleep exposed.
Most of those forts have since been abandoned.
The order you will enter town is as follows: Sournote at roughly 5:00 AM, followed by SmileyBastard at 6:00 AM, followed by alberozuko at 8:00 AM. Sora Teva Gee will enter at 11:00 AM, but The Grue comes upon Sora on the road at 10:00 AM. If he continues at his mount's speed, he will pass Sora and enter town at 10:30 AM.
The air in Freyfield is cool and crisp, even for March; the day is overcast, but bright. Frequent rainfall over the last few weeks has made the going muddy and miserable, but was probably good for the crops. The area is pleasant, and edible plants are fairly easy to find if you know where to look. Not that the people in Freyfield can enjoy it though, what with being dead and all.
