Because a katana is a masterwork bastard sword, do you gain the +1 on attacks when using a katana?

And also a Wakizashi is a masterwork short sword do you gain the +1 with that?

They also cost roughly as much as masterwork weapons, so it's not like there's any particular advantage..

Sure there is! Take troll-blooded feat, and your Logan after he gets the adamantium removed :) Maybe you will get a ill fated girlfriend too... :smallwink:

Or just get an adamantine katana. The best of both worlds! :smallwink:

Or just get an adamantine katana.
The best thing about an adamantine katana is it really does cut right through machine gun barrels.
I should know, I commissioned one for 3035gp (about ¥2,400,000) in Rokugan and have been practicing for two years.

Similarly, when you give me a horse and a lance, I can destroy armored tanks all day long. Because I'm really good with a horse and a lance.
But on topic, that's about the only good thing about taking a one level dip into Samurai. Free masterwork weapons, which you can enchant on your own by burning money/loot at.

Can you even cut slabs of solid steel with your katana?

IF it's adamantine, yes.
Of course, you could do it with an adamantine butter knife.
