3.5, PF, Warcraft, and Arcanis are all pretty open with DM approval. The character is a ranged fighter With a dex around 26. Though with some WC alchemy could be low to mid 30s.
Thanks.

Toon. Yeesh.

Anyway, using the Dragon Magazine 358 rules from the Master's Forge, you could get a Segmented, Reinforced, Vital Protection, Lightweight suit of Mithral Chainmail (Max Dex +7, +5 AC, +2 additional AC vs confirming critical hits), and combine that with Reinforced Vital Protection Adamantium Dastanas and a Reinforced Vital Protection Mithral Chahar Aina.

Total AC: +9, +15 vs critical hits, max dex +7. Uses up the bracers and shirt slot in addition to armor. No armor check penalty.

Thistledown padded gives you +1 AC ... and +10 max dex. no arcane failure, no armor penalites. From races of the wild.

Honestly, with a Dex of around 30, you're basically past the point of usefulness for armor. Get bracers instead.

Or there is also the exotic armor Gnome Twist cloth with no max dex bonus

Like JaronK said. Or just ditch the OMGWTHDIDULIST Mithral Chain Shirt and just do the OMGWTHDIDULIST Dastana and Chahar-aina.

Another (somewhat iffy) is making Celestial armor out of Mithral (instead of 'silver' or 'gold' as stated in description) and then add some other enhancements on top of it

What's a toon? Makes me think of Roger Rabbit. Or is it short for platoon?

Thistledown being from RotW.

However, Underdark has Nightscale armor, which gives +2 AC with the same +10 max dex. Only 5% spell failure if that matters, which it hardly does. If it does to you, there are plenty of ways to get rid of it (spellsword dip, Twilight property...)

It's basically an MMORPG term for your character.

It's a term popularized in many MMOs these days for player characters. And yes, Roger Rabbit or similar is probably the source.

Well, since the Warcraft D20 books are available in his game, it is more appropriate than it otherwise would be to use the term...

Alternatively, Bondleaf Wrap from the arms and equipment guide. Or using the clothing as armor variant of bracers of armor.

Gnome Twist Cloth is probably the least expensive, but the clothing as armor variant allows you to get a base armor bonus of 8 (without extrapolating for higher armor bonuses via custom item rules or going into epic items), magic vestment its enhancement bonus up to +5, and have armor properties on it.

No idea if Arcaniss or Warcraft d20 offer anything up your alley for this, due to never having read them.

There's also shadow silk armor from Tome of Magic, which I think raises the Max DEX of any cloth or leather armor by 2, among other things; I don't actually have the book.

Clockwork armour (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/cw/20070212a) is technically non magical despite requring spellcraft checks to use and magic to create, and if you have heavy armour proficiency lets you use any amount of dex bonus.

And here I was about to ask whether this was a race or template I had never heard of or just a misspelling of "Thoon".

From now on my headcanon is totally that all "toons" are actually illithids following Thoon.

It will make these threads far more tolerable.

you can always ask your DM underwear +5

26 dex= +8

Max dex for celestial armor= +8

AC bonus +5.

Celestial armor was previously mentioned, and is also technically magic armor.

Honestly, your best bet is probably to just keep ramping up dexterity, you're close the point where armor cripples your character rather than helps them.

oh, I didn't catch that bit... my bad.
