So bit of a humerous mood today

Wizard 3/ Elf paragon 3 / Ruathgar 3 .... Then what?

What do you think would be a good 11 levels cap for this besides more wizard?

Bladesinger? Arcane Archer? Both of those feel pretty elf-y...

Elven Generalist wizard first, then Olin Gisir later.

I've made one. He was excellent (if a bit racist)

First we need to separate:

Martial Elves
The Ultimate Forest Archer and Hunter -> Swift Hunter (or Wilderness Rogue Swift Ambusher)...

Caster Elves
Elven Generalist, Olin Gisir, Spellsinger(MoF), Spelldancer...

Gish Elves
Bladesinger, Duskblade...

So, who's up for creating a party with all the elves archetypes? =)

Two types of archer.

Super ranger elf archer, and
Cleric archer/seeker of the misty isle thing

I pick anything but Bladesinger please.

Elf wiz 3/elf paragon 3/ Ruathar 3/Olin Gisir 10/ MORE ELF 1 for me please.

I think Spirit Shaman are more elfey than Wizards. Why else would wraiths run away from Glorfindal ?

A super elf wizard would probably stick with wizard to level 5 come to think, as there are elven racial sub options at levels 1, 3, and 5.

The 5th substitution appears just to be weapon related feats, useless for a caster.

This reminds me of a character that was going to take all of the prestige classes that would turn you into a race, and then take all of those races paragon classes.

Ruathar isn't exactly rich with class features either, but the goal of this isn't to be strictly optimal.

It's quite good for 3 levels, Ruathar. Super senses, a toy, bit better bab and saves, hp and skills. Why not?

Anyway, does that wizard really need much optimization? What I mean is that you could squeeze more power out of it, but it's not really going to give much comfort to enemies of our Elf Wiz of racial purity 20, is it?

Also, Elven High Mage once in epic. May as well. More is more.

Well, the wizard doesn't need more optimization, that's the point. Its strength is its spell list, which stays as long as you just keep progressing casting. Wizard doesn't have any elf racial sub options after level 5 though, so for a super elf there's no reason to stay in.

Pardon my ignorance, but I am completely in the dark about what a "generalist" wizard is, and I cannot imagine why a player would want to be one, elf or no elf. Don't you lose some daily spell capacity as a wizard if you don't specialize in some school of magic or other? What benefit is there to being a generalist that compensates for that?

Can some kind soul here enlighten me, or at least direct me to some source material so that I can I inform myself about this?

Generalist is the default state of wizards. Specializing gives you +1 spells of each level of a certain school. Focused specialist gives you +3 spells of each level but -1 general slots. An Elven generalist is a ACF which gives you one extra spell per day of the highest level possible, and an extra spell gained for free at each level.

You could have an entire Elf party!
Cleric of elven God->Elf Paragon->Seeker of the Misty Isle
Elven Generalist Wizard->Elf Paragon->Ruathgar->Olin Gisir
Ranger->Elf Paragon->Arcane Archer
Just need a Roguelike...

Elf racial substitution levels for wiz are in Races of the Wild. They get more spells at their highest level, so they don't lose out. And they get a better familiar. It's not earth-shattering, but it's very good. It's a class that one would play seriously, put it that way.

EDIT: too slow.
