Suggestions for race Warlock/Ranger Gestalt?

A player of mine is rolling a warlock/ranger (straight no prc/no multiclass) gestalt.

What would be the best race, starting ecl cannot exceed 3. (that's upto 2 for the race and 1 for the class)

So far, the best I could find (because this is a highly MAD combination) is Catfolk.

Anything else?

as the DM I allow quite a lot in this regard (home brew races I do need to review)

She really is using the ranger to accent the warlock. The ranger will be a spellless ranger variant.

Raporan may be pretty cool.

Well according to lots of people on here you only really need Con for Warlock. Warlock Handbook (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=252715) for further reference.

I suggest Clawlock with this combo.

Full BAB would make for a good Glaivelock.
Warlock gives you flight, but I quite like Half-Fey. Now its +2 LA, though there is a Savage Progression (available online (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20040213a)).
This would give you a progression of
Half Fey 2/Ranger//Warlock — or the other way around.

What do you get ?


Dex +2
Cha +4
Con -2
Wis +2
Fey type
Low-light vision
Immunity to enchantment
Wings (Flight)

and a bucket full of SLAs
