My players are attempting to repair a cross-river bridge by hiring an engineer/architect.
First question: what price range should I be looking at for rebuild cost?
Assuming it's a vast number, and will require a small army, I'm thinking about giving +1 per 5 workers hired on to the architect's check to make progress over a week.
Second question: what should the DC be?
I'm going to assume the work will take a month or more. I haven't decided the architect's level or skills, but would have to assume a skill modifier in the neighborhood of +10 to +15. That being the case, Its a question of the number of workers required and the cost of the repairs. :-/
