View Full Version : An odd porblem with XSplit streaming software

Looking for some help, I'm in beyond my head. I'm not overly computer savvy, but I did try the basics of setting and resetting the default speakers.

Basically, I installed XSplit to do some streaming of League of Legends, and decided I wanted to play some music on the stream.

Then I discovered that XSplit isn't picking up system sounds at all, as far as I can tell.

As I said above, I've set and reset the default to the speakers which are default on my laptop. I've done some searching online, but can't find anyone with the same problem.

Program for media playback is Windows Media Player, which came pre-installed with windows 7.

If anyone has a solution for this, I'd love to hear it.

Chances are it's nothing to do with the speakers--you need to be looking at the *recording* device. There might be a loopback or similar that needs to be configured to allow the computer to record itself. (Leastways, that's how it always *used* to work, been a while since I did any sound-related stuff on a computer!).

Win 7 has distinct sound sources for each of it's emitters (finally!), so maybe there's some setting that lets you "target" a specific one of them. On my setup at home XSplit streams whatever comes out of the master channel. I'll check my setup after work and report back.

Silly question, but did you try the Xsplit forums? I am reasonably certain I saw a minimum of 4 separate threads with this problem.

Xsplit + LoL seems to equate to problems for some reason. Lots of graphics and sound driver conflicts. Might want to just update your drivers and see if that solves your problem.

Also, are you using any specific recording codecs? For video or sound? I know I'm using at least two codecs which I had to configure separately, hardly had any problems except from my old and poorly functioning headset (which I replaced).

I used the following guide as part of my original setup over a year ago.

Solved the problem. Turned out I had turned down all sound on Xsplit in the sound balance menu. Turns out that that turns off it getting system sound as well.

Awesome. Glad to hear that is cleared up.
Did you put up a link to your stream at some point? I wouldn't mind checking it out.

I stream somewhat irregularly, TBH.
