After stupidly handing out a vorpal sword to one of the adventuring party, fighting a dragon with sorcerer levels and an undead dreadwitch we have scrapped our campaign because it got so terribly broken. So at level one we set off, then gained a level by destroying some orc thugs and an ogre.

The party consists of: Catfolk Sorcerer/Cleric, Human Fighter, Tibit(DMC) Duskblade, Human/Horror Monk, Elven Necromancer and his skeletal familiar, and a Gnoll Ranger. Everyone had +1 LA free and hardly anyone used it, but I'm not complaining.
And as of now they are in the Orc's hideout, standing in front of a door that hasn't been opened. So what would be a sturdy encounter for level 2 characters that could lie in wait behind the old door? I was planning on having it trapped and an encounter inside but they are all around 5 HP at current. They aren't sure how many orcs live here but have slayed 6 so far.

Thanks in advance, Sam

If they are level 2 (or any level) they shouldn't be rushing blindly into ANY encounter with around 5 hit points currently.

They can be dropped by:
-A single arrow
-A single orc stabbing with a rusty dagger
-A child with a longsword

Just put an encounter with a couple of orcs waiting in surprise. A single standard orc will do enough to drop a party member or two if they're being that reckless. lol
