Just a question regarding a race. It says on page 15 of Magic of Incarnum that Scarns can use their spines even if they are using a shield. They lose the bonus of the shield if they attack though. If a scarn took Improved Shield Bash, could they retain their armor bonus while attacking?

Improved Shield Bash shouldn't have anything to do with attacking with one's spines.
