Ardaken Region
Laying just south and west to the mountainous Kosch region, Ardaken is a single, small continent, surrounded by smaller inlets and islands. Further north of Kosch, can be found the Cerem Velakis, which is slightly more verdant, but far more treacherous than either Ardaken or Kosch combined.

Tobias, Ezekial
You awake on a sandy, wet beach. You are on the shore of a moderately sized island. Immediately, there's no evidence of what continent, or even what land you are in. The place seems alive with growth and teeming with nature's presence. A forest surrounds all borders of the coast, crawling it's way to a central, looming volcanic mountain at it's heart. You know of only a handful of mountains in the region, giving you an idea of where you might be.
Your first instinct is to run, hide, and find shelter before nightfall. The Fomorii, foul demonic hell-spawn rise from any large body of water every nightfall, without fail. You are sure the longer you wait on this beach, the more danger you are in.

Orna Cian
For whatever reasons, your journey has taken you out to sea. But recently, your vessel, a small man-operated sailing ship has ran into trouble. A fierce storm, more powerful than your own magic can combat, had taken you and your ship by surprise. You ended up ship-wrecked, and stranded on a seemingly deserted island. You have been there for only a week now, but in that time you have found no sign of civilization. Only the soft, silent coast, calm and fresh with salt air. A mighty and thriving jungle that runs along the inner edge of the coast, and at it's very core? A massive, steaming volcanic mountain. You have learned to avoid the coasts, as the Fomorii that rise at night seem more dangerous than the breed you normally run into.
Within the jungle itself, in it's dark, unexplored recesses, are a number of demonic entities as well. You have had the occasional run-in, but survived thus far.

The Mare of Salt
The region is home to Twodisconnected continents, the western-most being claimed as Pulcher, or the Land of the Restless Dead. To the east, an archipelago chain named Cel Kethra. Beyond this, further East, where trade and civilization is more plentiful, are the Lansaris Salt Flats, for which the region was named.

Marcus ???
Your journeys have taken you to the coast of the Lansaris Salt Flats. Few mages, or true magicians such as your calibur, have ever seen these lands. Often priests and local seers occupy the region to profit off of the people's superstitions and paranoia. Far to the east the lands are tainted with Fomorii activity. They thrive so strongly, that the area is considered haunted. It is rumored the dead truely walk in the lands of Pulcher.
Our story begins in the port-settlement of Sarat. A truely brave place, with men of out-standing courage. Fomorii, which rise from bodies of water each night to lay-waste to the lands of the mortal, are most common on the coasts.

Ezra, Starkwood
Outside of Sarat, a large forested area known as the demon-woods rein. Aptly named, for many Fomorii kind that breach the defenses of Sarat, or ignore the settlement all-together find ample game and lush flora. While most demons are content to murder, raze, and make humans their play-things, a select breed of odd demon-spawn find the forest more to their liking. The woods are not threatened, save for the occasional deer or rabbit. The trees grow plentifully, farmers and hunters and gatherers find the place ample for game, if they can avoid the occasional roaming demon.
However this strangeness has only ever been found in this region, it draws many aspiring researchers, magic-users, and men of all kinds. Which makes the death-toll unimaginable.

The Gore-Table
Named for the over-whelming presence of Fomorii, and stronger demon-kind, these far South-Eastern Table-lands are the focal point for demonic activity. It is theorized that all of Demon-kind move from their hellish, nightmare world to ours through some secret tunnel hidden in the barren wastes of the Gore-Table. There is only a single human settlement, it is, or was, a large and imposing Mage-ran theocracy, who believed a "One true god" would protect them from the Fomorii and their demonic masters. At the heart of the region is a massive black scar. The "Maw of Lahad", is a deep endless abyss in which it is thought that all demon cross from their world into ours. No man, or magician has been fool enough to ever venture into this blasted realm.

Chemosh
Why you ever came to this forsaken place is a mystery. Perhaps drawn by a dream, or a duty beyond your own understanding. Regardless, you are here, on the edge of the Demon-stained Gore-Table. You stand high on a cliff's edge, over-looking the violent, torrent surf below you. An icy wind blows through your hair, as you look to the endless blue horizon. Night was nearing, and there are miles of rough, mountains separating you from the Mage-Theocracy of Vanticras. You would be safe if you could arrive at least within a few miles of their borders. It was the last bastion of civilization in this horrid, death-gifted land.

Flinn McAllister
The Gore-Table. A foul and choking desert world filled with Fomorii, demons, every hell imaginable. Every day here is equal to committing suicide, each night is asking for endless torture. Why have you come here? Is it the voice in your head? Calling you onward. It... no she, sounds so angelic. She urges you to this foul realm; To your death. Your instincts and magical intuition have kept you alive thus far, but you are unsure just how much longer you can last.
You look up to the mountains looming over you, the shadow they cast, cooling you from the hot, desert sun. Somewhere in those peaks lays the Theocratic, Mage-ran city of Vanticras. It's your only hope for survival, and it's the same place the beautiful voice urges you towards.

Marcus aka "The Maelstrom"

It was a title he hoped would catch on once he became more notorious around these parts. The Lansaris Salt Flats seemed perfect for an up-and-coming mage of the storm, with hopefully little competition while he spread his name and practiced his power. That and being near the ocean was always satisfying. Although there were unpleasant memories associated with it as well, the ocean had been Marcus's first taste of life outside the academy, the first taste of freedom, even if at the time he was a slave. Every time he saw the ocean he would keep an eye out for any ships, particularly those that flew any pirate flags. Particularly the flag of his old man. The last thing he wanted to do was run into him before he was ready. For now, the Fomorii which rose out of the water would make good target practice. Sarat served his needs quite nicely, unless he got bored with the place. He'd be running this town in a week.

Orna

It was a long week, or at least Orna was pretty sure it had been a week since he was stranded on this island, yet still he hadn't found his blood sister.

His makeshift shelter that at best would have been described as a very badly made shack, was destroyed by one of the demonic entities the other night and despite tearing the entity apart he still felt angry.
Then again he dint see the need to create something better since he planned to leave this place the moment he found Lernea, perhaps it was time to reconsider his plans.

Taking a deep breath Orna relaxed himself as he walked towards his home with the most easily handled sharp rock he could find with a brief search. He walked towards a tree in the coast, he planned to make a couple of spells to help him find Lernea everything that stands in his way be damned he wasnt going to lose his last family member twice.

Ezra

Having been trained in the ways of farseeing, and the mysterious ways in which the higher powers that gift un-solicited visions of events that are/to be/were, Ezra has found himself compelled to Sarat by recurring visions of finding his destiny there, or at least the start of his journey towards his destiny. The one regretable thing about prophetic visions, was their hazy nature and only half glimpsed truths presented.

Being unfamiliar with Sarat and the surrounding Lansaris Salt Flats area, Ezra heads into Sarat to find a guide, or at the very least a map and someone knowledgeable about the surrounding lands. Much as Ezra would like to rely solely on his powers of divination to learn the lay of the land, it only told him so much. Past experience with trying this method, and the scars to prove its foolhardiness on his left arm, showed that not everything you need to know could be learned from scrying.

The Mare of Salt

Marcus ???
Having come so far, your future seems bright and open to you. One with talents as yours shows much promise, and much potential in this hell-plagued world. The day was already late, but it would be a few hours at least before nightfall. You can see that few ships hang out on the coast any longer, save a few stragglers. The salty sea-air was accentuated by the dry, musty scent of a slowly building dust-storm. It would not be long before all the local homes and businesses would be shut tight. Partly to rebuke the dry, hot night-winds, but also to protect from roaming Fomorii.
Your attention is torn, however. A figure approaches you, a man built larger than yourself, and more imposing. He is taller than a bear at full-height, and bulkier too. Despite his hard, rugged build, he can be seen wearing a blindfold and guiding himself by a walking staff. His hair is as red and vibrant as fire.

The man approaches you, asking for directions around the area.

Ezra, Starkwood
You look about the town, the first thing you notice is the busily working populace. Hustling and bustling about, everyone seems in a hurry for, something. You than notice the sky, how it's turning a soft, golden-red colored. It was approaching night. You'd have two hours at most before nightfall came in full; And you know well what night brings to these cursed lands. Soon Fomorii would rise from the sea as one single-minded tidal-wave of blood and death.
Ships still out patrolling the coast make haste to dock, and the doors of homes and businesses begin to bar shut in increasing number. Soon you'd be left out in the dark, with naught but a dry hot breeze, and the Demon-hordes to keep you company.
As you wander along, looking for a guide in the lands, you find one figure who seems just as out of place as you. You approach him, to inquire if he knows the way around town, or the region in general. (yes the figure is DiscipleofBob's character)

Chemosh

It was absolutely beautiful here. The powerful waves, the wind flowing through his hair and even the endless blue sky were beautiful. Chemosh looked down at the cliff one last time before walking off towards where Vanticras was supposed to be. His undead butler followed after him and he could almost feel the twinge in his leg. It wouldn't do to stay out after night though and so he walked through with it. He noted to himself the idea of getting four zombies and have them carry him everywhere. It was an interesting idea but it would involve getting his hands on some corpses.

You plod on. The Border is thin here. It claws at your body, coaxing you to shed it, become one with the wisps of the ethereal. Shuddering you shake your head. You notice just how unsure your gait has become.
Shakingly you draw your dagger. A quick cut and three drops your very being fall into your bowl. They dance within it, the thaumathurgically empowered material rejecting the substance. A rush of words leaves your mouth, only the very last audible: likemi.
You drink, the coppery taste causing you to grimace still, after all these years. Instantly your body gains back some of its strenght. You plod on.

The Gore-Table

Chemosh
You continue your walk through the hellish flat mountain peaks of the Gore-table. Rarely the terrain becomes difficult to navigate, and you stumble or fall or hurt yourself. Ultimately it's little to slow you down.
Looking at the sun again, you notice there is no way you will find this place by nightfall, not at your current pace. Nightfall will be upon you in less than an hour.

Flinn McAllister
Your move on through the shade of the mountains above. Unfortunately the journey will take you too long to reach this supposed haven of magic and safety. Night will be on you in less than an hour, and than the demons come. And than they come in great numbers.
Mind explaining what you just tried to accomplish magically?

The Far-Reaches
Home to three mighty, enduring kingdoms. Men have cultivated these lands, and called them home for Millenia. The Far-Reaches are vast, and the plains and hills that compose it are plentiful, teeming with life. The Imperial Court of Temul, north of it's two younger kingdoms, is the power-house of the region. All the laws written in these lands are done so by the Temul courts, and their ruling families. To the south-east are the Iron-walls of Kartazal. A people rich in minerals and industry, they have erected great, iron-bound walls to protect. They rarely, if ever, suffer attacks by the Fomorii.
Finally, west of Kartazal lies the republic of Dahlmasir. Named for the Desert-dwelling people who, centuries ago, fled their own homeland further south to start a new life in the verdant plains of the Far-Reaches.

Rodric Quillweave
Your family was taken by a noble family of Temul. Within it's walls you now display your power, sealing the baron, the man who who committed this foul crime, in a wall of magical flickering fire. The noble cries out in fear, not aware of the amount of control you exert over your magic.
Not too far, a band of judicators, imperial-ordained "magic knights" tasked with ensuring the laws and regulations of Temul are upheld, approach you.
Swords raised, they issue one simple command to you.
"Release the Baron or else you will be taken into custody of the Imperial Court of Temul. Failure to comply will result in brutal apprehension. Threatening an officer's life will result in immediate execution without trial!

Dealgan McFergal
You are familiar with Temul policies. And threatening a man's life was almost always a good way to be sent to the gallows. It was rare however to see the Judicator, the magical police-force of Temul sent out to handle such a simple dispute. Often a guard detail would find the mugger, assassin, or thief in question and apprehend them brutally but efficiently.
This was no ordinary thug however. This man had power, power that could rival your own. With little effort, a portly figure, dressed in decent finery, had a local Baron engulfed in a ring of fire.
It would be a simple manner to ignore the conflict, but you feel as if this situation might be different. You know your power well, you know no single Judicator, let alone a small army of them, could ever lay a hand on you. It would take too many men, magic or otherwise, to hurt you.
This man radiated the same power. He would kill all these men, it'd be so easy...
And it'd be so messy.
Would you survive this psychopath's rampage?

Fuming Rodric yelled to them "Then enforce the blasted law, this man is holding my family hostage and you decide to arrive just when I got a hold of him."

A multitude of sparks began to appear and disapear in the air around him as he stared at the nights. "Surendering to you would be as dangerous as letting this man go. What do you think I should do!?" He adjusted his self so that he faced both the knights and the Baron with his hands behind his back. As he was speaking he pulled out a vial from his pack, making sure it would be hard for the knights to notice.

Dealgan McFergal

Seeing the curious situation unfold with dramatic flare, Dealgan decided the best course of action was to seek the preservation of life.

Stepping forward carefully trying to not make himself appear a threat to either wizard or guardsmen, Dealgan introduces himself politely.

"Excuse me gentlemen, perhaps I can be of service? I am Dealgan McFergal, I assisted in several recent cases. I believe I might be able to help mediate this situation."

Turning to face the wizard Dealgan responds to him "Sir, you must understand our point of view, we see a villain with a hostage, while from you point of view, you're a hero trying to rescue his family. Like all things, there is truth in both. I must ask you therefore, that for now, you release this man to the custody of the guards, while we seek the location of your family. My abilities are such that it would be only a simple matter for me."

Dealgan focuses his powers on the man surrounded by fire and attempts to use his powers of Learning in order to uncover the man's secrets in regards to the family of the wizard. "Legdarmal! Tell me, the full truth, where is this man's family? Have you committed a crime against him or his family?"

He also speaks to the guards "While I understand that this man is by all appearances committing a crime, I do not think it is too much to ask that we humour his requests and confirm that his family are safe and well. Is it not better that we find truth, while upholding the law and protecting innocences? Even if it does cost us an ever so slight amount of time?"

The Baron, despite being of noble blood and background, seems wholly uneasy. He turns to yell for help from the Judicators, before a new figure walks up. This man, without introduction addresses both the Police-force, and the Baron of which you have apprehended. After a short utterances of magical power, the Baron finds himself revealing more than he intended to.

"I know naught what you speak of. I do not currently have anyone's family locked deep under my estate's foundations in a secret dungeon which can be accessed by pulling free the first book of the third shelf on the east-wing!"

The man is dumb-founded, and covers his mouth with both hands. This will get him locked up for sure. The Judicator's hear this new piece of evidence, and make appropriate qualifiers to their earlier statement.

"You are aware unlawful use of magic, by those who are not identified as students of one of the three primary academies, is considered an act of potential treason and terrorism to our kingship. The both of you will be coming into custody, but the matter of this... mage's family will be delt with swiftly after."
They advance on you.

Dealgan McFergal
Calling first to the man, coated in flames, barely protected from instant immolation by the same conjurer that stands before you. The gilded, seemingly innocent noble looks astonished, a look that quickly turns to offended as he begins to speak.

"I know naught what you speak of. I do not currently have anyone's family locked deep under my estate's foundations in a secret dungeon which can be accessed by pulling free the first book of the third shelf on the east-wing!"

The man looks dumbfounded, putting both hands over his mouth. Instantly, the Judicators turn towards you. None lower their weapons, but each seemed to have eased slightly.

Sighing he said "Come no closer." as he finished speaking he tossed the vial into the flames. It sputtered higher and turned green for a instant before vanishing. There wasn't even a scorch mark upon the ground, just a slight amount of smoke drifting upward.

Stepping back he began to trace several of the runes one the hem of his robe as he waited for the response from the knights and the stranger. Muttering he spoke the word "Auqxir" and used the signs he had traced to focus the energies for his spell. He act from a position of strength till he saved his family. The vile he had thrown had contained a multitude of sleeping spores common only in places where a volcano slept. They would only awakening when the shells protecting the seeds were burned. Now all he had to do was give them the energy they needed and he could cause the Baron to erupt into a mass of vines.

"Be warned though I will not be taken into custody and the Baron will die if you try anything of the like."

One of the five Judicators moves to the barren, grabbing him aggressively by the wrists, and with a lengthy utterance, a chain of arcane words, bounds the man in suddenly bound by thick iron manacles.

"Bav Acaji uvk Blarg I kavk dhoo"

Another pair of the four remaining Judicators advance on you, swords not wavering for a moment.

"Lay to rest your spell or the penalty is death. This is your only warning"

Finally, the last two Judicators circumvent your circle, moving around and away from it, to entrap the gentleman with his arm upraised. It is with little effort that they bind him, too, in magically-formed iron manacles. He seems to resist little.

Dealgan McFergal
The Judicators set to work apprehending the Baron, yourself, and the portly mage. Two have moved on the mage, issuing him a warning.

You are like-wise bound, than escorted with your newly met mage-friend. The two of you follow in suite with the detail of Judicators, who also lead the Baron along with you.
After a short march through town, the Baron and his bodyguard split off from the main group, leading along some side-route.
With the guard detail down to four, you and the new mage are left to contemplate your fate. Before too long you come into view of the heart of all of Temul. The Imperial Palace.
Ruled by the majestic and supposedly "Divine" god-king Temularandrias Arkenhawd The twelfth; it is a palace of immense size and grandeur. It's buttresses stretch upwards for nearly a half mile, and the structure looks as if it could reach the clouds.

"Well you aren't being apprehended for being mages. You're being taken in on account of your both suspected conspirators of the Fomorii."

Tobias Ezekial
You begin your journey through the wilds, in hopes of finding a safer place to base yourself. The mighty volcano you saw from the shore looms over head, and even in the dense growth of the jungle canopy, you can see it's majesty. You are not too far into the mass of trees however, before an unlikely person catches your eyes.
A large figure with short cut, black hair and broad shoulders seems to be searching for something amongst the undergrowth. After a short moment or two, he managed to dig free a palm-sized chunk of obsidian, it's edge razor sharp and jagged.
The figure still hasn't noticed you.

Orna Cian
You search the undergrowth for a rock you can use effectively. After much searching, you find a razor-sharp, jagged-edged piece of obsidian. No doubt a by-product of the fuming volcano above you. You hear rustling near-by, as you notice a few branches shake freely on a tree.

A large, ornate throne forged of pure silver and glimmering brightly, no doubt recently polished.
No one sits upon the throne at this very moment, but you have a feeling the occupant will be returning in no time.

Dealgan McFergal
The guards pay no heed to your comment as you are ushered into the throne-room of the King of Temul. With a massive vaulted ceiling, the throne seems lonely and small. It's occupier must be out currently, leaving it free of use.

Tobias lowers his sword.

"Tobias. You seem to be at peace around here. Would your people happen to be close by? I'm not from around here."

Seeing the stranger putting away his sword Orna shrugs, it would be good to see if he could make the obsidian stone he found a spear later, and be prepared for combat than not.

"Nope actually neither am i, I was stranded by a great storm here and would have left if it wasn't for the fact i am searching for my Blood sister, so i should warn you from now that the demons from the Ocean are much tougher than the ones you will find in the jungle".

"Psh," Marcus scoffs with a smirk, "Only if you want to miss the action. Why do you think I'm out here, in an area known for monsters attacking at night?"

"Much as I enjoy smiting demons as the next Magi, I find it prudent to be knowledgable about the lay of the land. I'm much rather be able to use the land and its features to my benifit than being surprised by them and finding myself trapped or hindered by my lack of knowledge."
Ezra gestures to his heavily scarred left arm as he speaks.
"Last time I got over zealous and threw caution to the wind this happened. Took my mentor and me the better part of a month working daily on my arm to keep me from losing it. Caution has been a much larger part of valor since then for me."

Tobias smiles. Another lost soul it seems. At least he won't be without company.

"So friend, where about's is your camp? I'm guessing your after something to defend yourself with. I have something to defend myself with. We make a good team, no?"

"My camp was trashed just this passing night by one of the Fomorii in the jungle, its repairable but mostly because it wasn't built to be very permanent either way so it shouldn't be hard to repair it. You are welcome to join me in the camp, please follow me."

With that Orna starts moving towards where his camp was at.

Up to the GM how well the shelter is or not, in my description it was only made to provide some help against the elements(rain, cold ect.).
So obviously its not the best place but its something that is not nothing, just need some repairs/expansion now, maybe?

"Well, fortunately for me, both of my arms are in perfect working condition, so I think I'll continue throwing caution to the wind. Seems to have worked well so far," Marcus comments as he tries to find some high ground. Best to get as high a view of the city and any oncoming enemies as possible. "Maybe you just weren't zealous enough."

"Perhaps I will join you in a day or so in your nightly vigil. For now, I share retire and see if I can find the information I seek on the morrow."

You know you won't arrive at your destination before nightfall. Not a good thing, this place might kill you at night. So you find a cave with only one entrance. While you are not suited for hard labor, you try to pile as many stones into the opening as possible, hoping to close it up somewhat.
utlaegry is a useful rune. You try to build a defense from it, banishing anything demonic from entering and the light within the cave from leaving. Hopefully it will be enough to deter those that would seek your demise.

Attempting what it says. Banishment of demonic entities, stopping them from entering and blocking light from leaving the cave, making it harder to see into. I'd also include smells, but I'm not sure thats possible.

"Nightly vigil? I'm just here for the fireworks. I'm only coming back here tomorrow night if it proves to not be painfully dull." Marcus casually waves off the stranger. "By the way, unless you really need it, you might have an easier time finding your way around town without the blindfold."

Chemosh slowly scratched the word likemi into his skin and his butler's skin as well. He focused on the transformation that he wanted with in himself and his zombie. He felt as if he was going faster and with this he hoped he could reach the city before night fall.
