View Full Version : Unreasonable Carrying Capacity Ideas

Essentially, due to Eidolon Shenannigans I have a carrying capacity of almost 10,000 pounds for a light load. My question is, with a huge size creature, what kind of really silly "The game was not designed with this in mind" stuff can we pull? I want to surprise my GM.

Give it the feat Throw Anything (or don't, it doesn't matter if your To-Hit is high enough), and a 10000 lb rock.

An improvised weapon of large size does [3 + (weight/200 lbs round up)]d6 points of damage, (see Complete Warrior, page 159, which is still applicable in Pathfinder).

So that's 53d6 damage, which isn't a lot by TO standards, but is probably high enough for your needs. If it's a sharp rock, that goes up to 103d6. And if you're investing in it, you may as well make a +1 Returning rock.

Edit: got the wrong size

Please explain where one should get a masterwork rock so it can be enchanted...

I'd suggest a nice little item called Muleback Cords, which increase your carrying strength by 8, and a little spell named Ant Haul, which triples your carrying capacity.

That much carrying capacity gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "looting the building".

Other than that, you could abuse teleportation spells (Dimension Door, Teleport etc.), since they allow you to bring stuff with you up to you maximum carrying capacity.

The Throw Anything feat is a really good suggestion too.

"Hey, whaz tha big thingy in the sky, Gork?" "I dunno, but it's comin' closa mighty quick, Orok."

Yes, and there is a belt that gets you all the time ant haul.

I have a 7 strength Vitalist who runs around in full plate with a tower shield due to Muleback chords.

wait, you want a 10,000 pound rock to be a large rock? what's it made of, black hole?

I recall a thread about abusing the Hulking Hurler's Really Throw Anything ability. If I'm remembering correctly, the "weapon" used had to be made out of lead, as it was the only thing dense enough (and cheap enough) to weigh that much and still be reasonably sized enough to wield.

Nope. If it were made of Lead, it wouldn't even be a Small object.

Basalt is a common rock. It is three metric tons per cubic meter. That is roughly 190lb/ft^3

A 10ft by 10ft by 10ft cube is a large object. It is 1000 Ft^3 in volume. That means 190,000 lbs.

Your pointy rock can be significantly smaller than a 10ft cube.

Lead has a density of 700lb/ft.

You can have it carry the party around 24/7, even while they're resting. Get someone to cast Keep Watch (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/k/keep-watch) on you every night so the Eidolon can stay out all night. Bonus points if the eidolon has 6 legs, can fly, and your summoner symbol is a blue arrow pointing downward from the top of your head to your face.

You can also use it to pull doors and structures down, much like one would use a car or truck for that purpose. Having it drop things on people would be pretty lulzy. See if you can give it the Narrow Frame feat, so it can fit into smaller spaces without penalty, and have some way to reduce its size category.

Maybe if you got long chains made of [extremely dense substance], you could loop them around a building and have the Eidolon tear it down. Or have the Eidolon use a Huge-sized tower shield and basically be a wall.

Cast Masterwork Transformation (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/m/masterwork-transformation) on it.

Heavyload Belt (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/a-b/belt-heavyload) gives continuous Ant Haul. Simply re-casting it every day might not be a problem for a Summoner, but that does cost a spell known and spell(s) per day. The item is 2k, but does not eat your spells.

You are correct (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19873078/Hulking_Hurler_build?post_num=30#338556354).

And I meant Huge size, not Large. My edit was wrong.

Cast Masterwork Transformation (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/m/masterwork-transformation) on it.

Rock (http://i01.i.aliimg.com/img/pb/394/231/109/109231394_188.JPG) + Masterwork Transformation = Masterwork Rock (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d5/David_von_Michelangelo.jpg/314px-David_von_Michelangelo.jpg)?

You'd still have to pay the cost difference, so why not?
