Weight damage/ Improvised weapon damage?

So, If you were to throw a rock, you would get the improvised weapon damage according to weight (last page of CW) because its considered improvised. If a player were to throw the rock at a height causing it to fall more that 10 feet, would he get the weight damage, the improvised weaon damage or both? Or would he get to choose what damage?
