Stormfront Scion

The Storm Front movement is a pseudoreligious sect of House Lyrandar, which holds that the progenitors of the House, the Firstborn, remain alive beneath the seas in the form of mighty krakens. Though their fantastic claims are believed by few–indeed, many do not even believe in the cult’s existence–the sect holds the existence of the Stormfront Scions as confirmation of their faith. Through a combination of fanatical devotion to the Devourer, ingestion of bizarre alchemic substances, and the twisting of their own dragonmark, they are able to become a freakish hybrid of man and kraken. The Stormfront Scions are mighty warriors on land or sea, capable of attaining a state of nigh immortality.

Requirements
To qualify to become a Stormfront Scion, you must fulfill all the following criteria.
Alignment: Any non-good
Race: Half-Elf
Base Attack Bonus: +7
Deity: Must worship the Devourer
Feats: Stormrider
Special: Must have a Lesser, Greater, or Siberys Mark of Storm
Special: Must ingest a unique alchemic complex, provided to you by the Storm Front sect

Class Skills
The Stormfront Scion’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Balance (Dex), Bluff (Cha), Concentration (Con), Diplomacy (Cha), Gather Information (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (Geography) (Int), Knowledge (History) (Int), Knowledge (Nobility and Royalty) (Int), Knowledge (Religion) (Int), Sense Motive (Wis), Spellcraft (Int), Swim (Str), and Tumble (Dex).
Skill Points at Each Level: 4 + Int modifier.

Class Features
All the following are class features of the Stormfront Scion prestige class.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency
You gain no additional weapon or armor proficiencies.

Heir’s Mark (Ex)
Levels in the Stormfront Scion prestige class count as levels in the Dragonmark Heir prestige class for determining the caster level of your dragonmark’s spell-like abilities. You can have a maximum of five effective levels of Dragonmark Heir for determining your caster level.

Mark of the Kraken (Sp)
Upon consuming the alchemic substance provided to you by the Storm Front cult, commonly known as kraken’s blood, your dragonmark undergoes a strange transformation. In changes in appearance to resemble the twisting tentacles of a kraken, and it grants you the ability to take on a kraken-like form. As a standard action, you may expend a use of one of your dragonmark abilities to transform into one of the following creatures, as the polymorph spell. The creature you transform into you and the duration of the transformation depend on the strength of dragonmark use expended, as below.

Kraken’s Embrace (Ex)
At 2nd level, you grow a pair of kraken-like tentacles. Though they can coil up small enough to be hidden under a cape or cloak, they also serve as a pair of powerful natural weapons, dealing damage based on your size, as below. They are treated as primary natural weapons, and you are proficient with them.

Aquatic Adaptation (Ex)
At 3rd level, your body adapts to the rigors of the sea. While you retain the ability to breath air, you gain the aquatic subtype, gaining the ability to breathe freely under water. You gain a swim speed equal to your base land speed. You gain a +8 racial bonus on any Swim check to perform some special action or avoid a hazard, and may always choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if distracted or endangered. You can use the run action while swimming, provided it you swim in a straight line.

Multiattack (Ex)
At 4th level, you gain Multiattack as a bonus feat.

Strength of the Storm (Ex)
At 5th level, your tentacles become sinewy cords of muscle. Whenever you hit a foe with a tentacle attack, you may attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If you win the grapple check, you establish a hold. In addition, whenever you make a successful grapple check against an opponent, you automatically deal tentacle damage to it.

Commune with Kraken (Sp)
At 6th level, you gain the ability to commune with the krakens of the sea–the transformed Firstborn, Storm Front claims, though the truth of this is unknown. By submersing yourself in water and meditating there for half an hour, you may gain the benefits of the commune spell. However, instead of contacting a deity, you communicate with the whole of krakenkind, your questions answered by any kraken with the knowledge sought after.

Storm’s Reach (Ex)
At 7th level, your tentacles lengthen, gaining a reach 5 ft. greater than your natural reach.

Timeless Body (Ex)
At 8th level, you cease to physically age, and no longer take penalties to your ability scores for aging. Any such penalties that you have already taken, however, remain in place. Bonuses still accrue, and you still die of old age when you have reached your maximum age.

Reborn from the Storm (Sp)
At 9th level, you learn a powerful rite of healing, letting you draw on the strength of the Devourer to tend to your wounds. By submersing yourself in water and meditating for half an hour, you may gain the benefit of either the heal or the regenerate spell, with caster level equal to your class level.

Blessing of the Devourer (Sp)
At 10th level, your dragonmark surges with energy, drawn from the primordial power of the sea. If you do not already possess a Siberys dragonmark, you gain the Siberys Mark of Storm. If you already possess it, you gain the ability to expend a use of it to transform into a kraken, as the shapechange spell, for 10 minutes per class level.
