Question time!

Excuse my ignorance, but in spells like Enlarge Person and the power Expansion, the text, other than weapon damage, AC, to-attack and reach/space mentions a +2 Str -2Dex size bonuses/penalties.

Size increases also change your attributes as found here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/improvingMonsters.htm#tableChangestoStatisticsbySi ze).

How do those two interact? For example, the Strength bonus of +8 in the Medium to Large column is added to the +2 from the above spell/power? Is the only bonus you get the +2 because of the use of magic/psionics? If a creature goes from medium to large without the use of magic (templates etc) what bonuses/penalties does it enjoy/suffer? Is that table only applicable on monsters and not PCs, rendering all the other questions invalid?

Thanks.

Almost the last of these, but not quite: the table only applies to improving monsters by advancing their RHD. A PC will pretty much never want to advance RHD, because class levels are so much superior in nearly all cases.

Templates that change size should have the proper ability score adjustments factored in.

unless you are like one HD(or level, choose whatever wording you like) away from a size increase, and you are a BSF.

You always use specific rules over general ones. The general rules are what happens when a creature's size increases though a way that doesn't explicitly state what happens when it does. Enlarge Person, Expansion, and Righteous Might all state explicitly what happens to your stats when you use them. These specific instructions replace any general instructions that may be found elsewhere.
