I've created a savage ranger, family killed by drow, now on a revenge killing spree, Chaotic-Violent, yada yada.

I want him to destroy things in melee combat. I mean WRECK. He fights with a handaxe and longsword. (The longsword is negotiable, the handaxe is not). He is a lvl1 Elven Ranger/2 Ranger/ 1 Elven Ranger with an elven warhound as an animal companion. My initial plan was for him to take Natural Bond and buff the dog insane amounts, but now that i've seen Jack B' Quick, I think it more fits Merrilor's fighting style. Can you guys help me out here?

P.S. I can probably retrain feats if you want to start from lvl one.

P.P.S. I can't redo the current levels, we've already played one session and the dog almost killed everybody on a rampage so if he goes poof other players will DEFINATELY say something. I can modify him for a different campaign though if this one goes flat.

P.P.P.S. Explain the AoO shaninigans if you wouldn't mind please?

The best way to optimize Ranger is Mystic Wildshape Ranger with SotAO, but since you can't lose the dog and combat style, you can't take these, and won't be an optimized Ranger. I recommend picking up the dog with Wild Cohort and then retraining your levels into something that actually works well with two-weapon fighting like Swordsage or Warblade.

TWF Handbook (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=279079)

look through that and see what you can work with.

I suggest goin Tripper if you can. High Sword/Low Axe (http://dndtools.eu/feats/complete-warrior--61/high-sword-low-axe--1389/) since you want to use that style anyways lol.

How many feats are we talking here? Did you use flaws? Are they allowed? How about other feat gaining tricks? How much cheese ya want? Fries?
