Stalwart Sorcerers and Prestige Classes

how do stalwart sorcers and prestige classes work out? from reading the description in the book it seems that once you prestige out, you know longer gain the extra hp, but you never make up for knowing one less spell.

Actually, you're not. But you asked for me to say it so nicely...

You could try argue to you gm that you should only lose the highest level spell you gained as a sorcerer so you're only losing a level 2 spell.

On the plus side, Stalwart Sorc stacks wonderfully with Battle Sorceror (since you need 2 spells known before the lost spell migrates upwards, it doesn't even hit you for several levels after you unlock a new spell level!), and anyone who goes Battle Sorc is presumably not prestige classing, or not doing so much. Otherwise the Battle Sorc was a far, far bigger waste than Stalwart Sorc ever would be.
