View Full Version : Slash fiction...

So I was thinking about writing some Order of the Stick slash fiction. Would I be banned for such an atrocity?

-To clarify, I was just thinking something funny, a little pg-13 at parts, sorta satirizing the norms of slash fiction, and not too serious at all. I just had this funny picture in my head last night, and I was wondering how quickly the banhammer would come down on me if I wrote something about it.

Writing it? Nothing they could do. Posting it? Youse a dead man. Trust me, posting anything that puts even a single Newton of force on the boundaries could get you a warning. Maybe put it up on Fanfiction.net.

Miko Miyazaki and Haley Starshine looked deep into each others eyes. Having until recently been enemies, it was now difficult to imagine being anything other than the best of friends.

An uncomfortable silence filled the room, until Haley finally, longingly whispered, "Miko... I want to smite your evil."

*does not get it*

*randomly recalls pertinent comic*

*laughs like hell*

That's not quite slash fic...more like bludgeoning fic.

Piercing humor, you might say.

-Yeah, I was thinking about it again last night, and I dunno. I might. If I do, I'll pop up a link to it.

I was gonna say that, but the pun was just too bluntly obvious.

Anyway, don't try anything too far-out if this is your first work. You'll have less material to use, and that'll make it harder.

I've got a title and everything: "Paladin's Mount"

Nah, I've written lots of fan fiction, plus some erotica (and a Harry Potter story I can only describe as icky).

-Oh, just realized I forgot to mention what characters I had in mind.

Don't dare say Elan and Nale, or great stabbity death will be visited upon you.

Jarl

No, of course not. Incest is deviant and erot- and not very nice.

Elan and Roy

-Like I said, the image just popped fully formed into my head and I couldn't get it out. Hell, I'll start writing it right now.

Before you use Elan (or Nale), Roy, Belkar, Haley, Celia, Pompey, Durkon, or Hilgya, might I mention that all these characters have expressed gender preference? Specifically, that of being straight. No Haley/Celia, for example.

Also, Vaarsuvius appears to only care for its mate, so no V slash.

Miko/Julia, however, does not violate canon, so that will not earn my ire. Nor would, say, Hinjo/Redcloak. Although those examples would be exceptionally horrible, they'd not cause cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance is bad, so avoid it.

EDIT: Edited to keep up with the latest comic.

Ah, but you see, with slash fanfiction, aforementioned gender preference doesn't matter in the least...for example, the *numerous* Harry/Draco HP slash that exists...Soooo, as long as it's not posted on here (to avoid warnings/ban), everyone is fair game.

But! If someone wanted to write a same gender slash including V, how could they???? That just randomly popped into my head.

Face the fact that any successfull pop-culture book/movie venue will get slash, mostly written by middle-aged housewives (mind you, that's the "marginally readable" category. I'm not talking about the l33tspeak, barely legible tripe so prolific on the internet). And HP slash? Pfft, try Han Solo/Chewbacca slash.

No, I'm, not saying it's a good thing. But it's going to happen unless you lobotomize everyone responsible. So either deal with it, or get busy with that scalpel. :smallamused:

I've seen Luke/Jabba, don't tell me about bad slash.

-Most of it is just plain lolworthy, though.

Hey, there's no established reason that that would be wrong. I think they like Link, but there's no real proof other than knowing him, really.

I work with a non-profit (as in, we never seem to make any profit, so why not be non-profit?) organisation who promote local talent in music and comedy. The staff have become characters; in reality, we are not like the people we play onstage as promoters.

The most disturbing slash fiction I ever saw involved me (as my onstage persona) and the comedy director. I would link to it but it is very NSFW and violates so many rules...

Yo, will youse people quit murderin' the language? 'Youse' is a plural! (Whether it ends in a hard 's' sound, or a 'z', is open for debate.)

I'm sorry that I did not scribe it as "you's", the compound of "you" and "is". Take a coffee break, Anne. (If you don't understand the reference, I'll possibly let you know where it came from. In broad terms.)

Hey, if you're scared now, don't think about Rule 36 being applied to OotS.

If you know what that is, it's too late for your brain.

34. Rule 34. "There's porn of it, no exceptions." There's a funny little comic about it even, with a guy staring at his monitor and sobbing "Calvin and Hobbes?"

-Rule 35 is "Rule 34 doesn't count if you ask for it" or something along those lines.

Applying 4chan to reality - that is, a real webcomic - is just asking for a paradigm shatter. Honestly, the people there range from hilarious to sick, sick, sick, sick!

Order of the Stick slash? PM me a link if you get inspired, just for giggles. Heh heh ha...oh, that would be hilarious. Remember Rule 4.
