Thank you.

*Clears throat*

Good evening. Every time I've read something on how to give a speech, it always says to open with a joke, but I'm about as funny as a wet brick in a painter's uniform, so I wont open with a joke.

In the last 18 weeks I have lost 17 pounds. Down from 211 to 194.

'Murica.

That is all, and thank you for your time.

Well, patting yourself on the back is great exercise after all :smalltongue:

Seriously though, great job. :D

As a fellow 'Murican, congratulations! It is hard to stay on the wagon here, but you did it!

Thanks guys. I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure my percent body weight has dropped a bit quicker then my weight overall has because the thighs of my pants are getting tighter, and my upper arms and shoulders are getting bigger. Also, I'm like a level 16 Fitocrat.

So, yes, I feel pretty damn good about myself.

In related news, I probably walked around 250-300 kilometers the last 2.5 weeks while on my vacation. All the while eating delicious French food! If I could stay even another week, I'd no longer look like a 'Murican :smallfrown: I already went down from pant size 32 to probably a 30.

You might enjoy Fitocracy if you're looking to get in shape.

That's pretty good. What is your goal for final weight lost?

Since you are taking this slow I think you've got a much better chance of keeping it off in the long run. Everything I've read says that fast diets aren't permenant, and that the real benefit is from lots of little lifestyle stanges.

I don't really have a final goal, since I'm shooting more for fat loss than weight loss. I actually liked being 200+, I just want it to be muscle, instead of fat.

I too, am a 'Murican, and join in the celebration. Muscles are alot of fun to have.:smalltongue: (In a oddity note, I too have lost weight. Problem is, going from 97 to 93 isn't exactly the direction I was hoping for.:smallbiggrin:)

Congrats!

Its always good to see someone have sucess in their battles with weight issues.

For my own self, im still working on it.

for example, ive sit on the couch and watched DOZENS of those exercise DVDs and havent lost a pound...

and now im finding out that the whole point of running 36.2 miles for a marathon is that they want you to do it in ONE DAY and not spread out over the course of a month or two...

but on the bright side...

I learned something about EXERCISE.

mainly...how to spell it correctly!

one step at a time!

250-300 km...let's call it 275km. This is approximately 170 miles (american terms :P).
2.5 weeks = 17.5 days, call it 18 days.
170 miles / 18 days = 9.4 miles / day.
If you are awake for 18 hours / day (6 hours of sleep), this means you walked about a half mile every hour, continuously for 2.5 weeks.
I must say that I am EXTREMELY impressed =O

Another way to make speaking in a public place is to imagine the people you're speaking to are naked.
Unless you're speaking at a kindergarden.

Yes I missed the point on purpose to make that joke.
Congrats man.
